Slot tournaments - love them? Hate them? Don't care?

Even though I'm a VP player, I would rather play in a Slot Tournament than a VP Tournament,
........ I just find them a lot more fun.

I'll play in a Slot Tournament if it's free.

I also need the $$ amount something worth my time .... and also like it if there is an Awards Dinner.

Gotten to where I don't mess with them if you have to keep coming back (register, several rounds, etc). Just let me show-up, play for 5 min and check back later to see if I won anything.
I received an email for "B-connected" and actually looked at the "my offers" page. (I have zero points)

There are slot tournaments every month including room and some food or fsp. Looked like 3 nights for about $129 or so including tourny entry, some food, coupons, and "comps". So may be a frugal value to check those promo offers for B-connected or others. ::: shrug :::

I know if/when I plan my next trip, I will.
I dont play them if I have to pay to enter. Some places offer free tournaments. El Cortez has one every day for hotel guests or anyone who puts 500 points on their card. I do the El Cortez one every visit to Vegas whether I'm staying there or not.

I look for places that give generours offers in return for moderate play.

Many yrs. ago we did them at the D.I. & Frontier. Rooms were comped. Actually they were alot of fun and we did win a few hundred dollars. At both casinos there was an awards dinner. Met alot of nice folks.
Harrah's used to have the best ones, and I planned my trips around them.
Free nights, gifts, free very nicely done photo, 2 breakfasts in the Range (fabulous spreads), several excellent buffets. Lots of fun.

Wasn't crazy about the awards dinners (music so loud you couldn't hear yourself think, though the food was excellent). Might have liked them better if I ever was a winner...LOL. Most I ever won was $100.

Broke with Harrah's, so don't know if their tourneys are as good anymore.

I've done tourneys at Bellagio and Rio. Bellagio has mega food with theirs, and even last place wins $100 in free play. Rio's were good too.

Honestly haven't done one in a long time, but I like them a lot.
My very first one was at Bellagio and I think it spoiled me for all others. Free rooms, food, booze and the tourney itself was exciting. AND I won $1000 in freeplay. I have never been invited to another there sadly.

I did a few at Venetian...but they had no freebies other than the room and I only won $100.

I would do more of them if I could...but often times I have booked my airfare 3 months in advance and end up missing them.
I'm only interested if the rooms are comped and there's no entry fee. I've only played in two - one VP and one regular slots. Enjoyed the VP one, even though I didn't win any money. The regular slot tournament was rather mindless, but fun with the fun music and festival atmosphere - actually won some free play.
Personally I don't care for them but I don't begrudge those who love 'em. To me it's just mindless tapping. I'd prefer a drawing. But then, I'm not a slot player so that could be why ...

Precisely my thoughts, fredo.
