SLS or other new places/shows/restaurants?

I shamefully admit I have not been in the SLS. It received good praise and press and I have already seen some reports of things changing. So I wish that I had checked it out upon it's opening. Any thoughts, promos or likes there?

What about other new places? Fremont stuff? Linq stuff? Fave new restaurants or maybe even show that is not a renowned cirque (I do love them), but what b rated show do you like?

Mac King is still one of the best, cheapest shows in Vegas IMO.
I wouldn't stay at the SLS but the casino is worth visiting. The table limits and rules are superior to most places on the strip.
Bazaar Meats at SLS is talking to me. But then again, I'm a big fan of Jose Andres.

Bazaar Meats is really the only restaurant of recognition at SLS. They had a great pancake restaurant but it didn't stay open very long.
As for the hotel, it looks like it is decorated like a French whore house, only in white and not burgundy. I don't know why bright white seems to be the new decorating color. Vegas rooms get beaten up badly and I think rooms at SLS and the Delano are just going to look horrible in a few years.
I have seen carrot top and raiding the rock vault. Carrot top was surprisingly very good. I even went again. I was never a fan or not, but found him quick and witty with tons of fast jokes. As for raiding the rock vault, I liked it, but had a completely different idea of what it was. I really thought it was just a bunch of old rockers rocking out together, so was surprised at the rock through the years format in a scripted show.

I have always heard Mac King is good, but never saw it.

I didn't realize Bazaar Meats was at SLS. I have heard the name, but not followed up with exactly who they are. Guess I'll have to do a little research.
You do have the High Roller now. One opinion.....

We did it because we had the LVA coupie. It was.....OK. Been mentioned before that because it is set back from the Strip, you don't really get that "money-shot" picture down the boulevard. Obviously you can see a LONG way out to the mountains in all directions, but maybe the visual isn't a great deal different than from an upper level hotel window.

We were glad we did it - once.

One tip....

We went during the day on a weekday. Waited a little before leaving the bar area because there were a couple families with some VERY hyper kids just ahead of us and thought that MIGHT not be all that much fun cooped up in the pod with them.

When we did enter the queue line, we were alone - meaning when we got to the pod - we rode - alone - which was pretty nice.

Unless there would be a time when a line became huge - which I doubt - I think you could maybe time the thing out to coordinate with a Bellagio fountain show, and hit that at or near the top. That might give you a "keeper" photo op as the view to the fountain opens up when you ascend.
We've attended all the Cirque shows except Criss Angel, not interested in that.

So, on recent Vegas trips, we've tried to get to some of the smaller shows. We've now seen Australian Bee Gees at the Excalibur three times. If you like Bee Gees music, these guys do a great job, very entertaining show. We've seen Human Nature at Venetian, another fun show, though not quite the Motown I always liked. We've also been to Legends in Concert at the Flamingo twice. Apparently it is hit or miss, as the tribute singers change, and it was good once, poor the other visit.

I suggest taking a look at the discounted show tickets available online through the Radio Shopping Show of LV: www.kshp.com
They have sales that are even better than their normal listed sale prices. We've gotten $5 or $10 tickets to many shows, just by tracking their special sales.
