You guys don't get it. Even asking for ID will not solve the problem. The reason there is so much fraud in the snap program is because "SOME"(not all or the majority) of those that receive the benefits get much more than they actually need. The excess money or food stamps is what gets sold. Even if ID was required what would stop someone from taking a friend with them to the store and buying their items for them then exchanging those items for money? No difference at all.
We know a young single lady with 5 kids under 8 years old, who gets $800 a month in food stamps. She also gets WIC which pays for milk and infant things, so there is no way her and 5 young kids eat up $200 a week in food. Maybe in a few years when the kids get bigger she'll need that much, but not now.
