Snubbed by a fellow LVA'er

Maybe he thought you were working undercover for the cops or something.

Sorry that happened to you. I would welcome such a greeting from someone from LVA.

So, I am at the Golden Gate on Fremont street a few weeks back with my trusty LVA book trying to make my $25 match play on a craps table when a guy shows up and try's to use his LVA match play coupon at the table (you cant by the way-you need to go to the rewards booth and get a $25 match play chip and then make your bet)
Anyway, I see the LVA book and say, "Hey your a fellow LVA'r" waving my book at him. I was hoping to put a face with one of the names that I see on these boards, but the guy looks at me like I have two heads, turns around and leaves! WTF?
I am posing the question....if you see someone in Las Vegas with a LVA coupon book, do you say hi? or just keep walking by?
I have always hoped that Anthony Curtis would hold a one time "all members meet" so I could meet everyone.

Anthony used to hold meets,I think back in the 80's.It's been a while since the last one.Maybe if we pestered him enough.....lol
I'll be in Vegas in mid to late March and would LOVE to catch up with fellow forum members there, somewhere on the Strip or downtown. Perhaps someone could take the lead and organise a member meet at a casino property? Alternatively, I could arrange one. If we do that, either way, we're guaranteed a proper members meet for all who are interested.

Don't read much into how important LVA is to most folks. A chatroom? Probably foreign to the vast majority of members over the years. Something more than coupons and a newsletter, like an identity? Not for most.

We used to have big meets. We used to have medium meets. We used to have small meets. They were organized. It just takes someone putting one together. Though the population of usual suspects to participate has dwindled quite drastically.
I have been to multiple member meets while I was in Las Vegas and found everyone-every time to be good people and we all had a great time. I am one of those people that love small groups doing things like camping trips, going out to eat, etc and I thought randomly meeting a fellow LVA'r at a table would be a great way to spend some time gamboling matching notes etc and when I said hi and he basically just turned around and left like I was trying to sell him something I was a little taken aback. I showed him my LA book--(which should be the secret LVA frat hand shake).....on the other hand, it didn't ruin the trip that for sure. I just don't want to be the creepy guy running up to everyone holding a LVA book!

As far as the Antony Curtis LVA meet, I would definitely be in.If its been 20+ years, I think he's due! Hell, I would think he would be able to call a host somewhere and get 25, 50 or even 100 people a great rate at a hotel, a show, and a buffet and maybe we can all make one massive match play bet or something and of course maybe a small lecture from Anthony on couponing, Jean Scott, and Bob Dancer??? hell I might even pay a little to see that!

weggie44 Count me in, we would make a special trip

I vaguely remember the the last meet I attended. It was in a hall inside Harrah's.Wasn't fancy, but had a nice time. They had a huge sub sandwich that was cut into smaller pieces, drinks were compped, and they had several drawings h and other prizes. As I remember, the sub was very good. All in all,a very good time.
I posted a question about Anthony holding a members meet in the "ask LVA staff" boards.......I will let you know how it goes

I will be in Vegas for the NFC / AFC championship weekend Jan 23 - 27. Anyone want to meet up then?
