So What's With SHOCKWAVE POKER?

I wanted to start playing a new game at my offshore casino. One of the choices is SHOCKWAVE POKER. 4OAK pays a nice 1250 coins. But they don't tell you what 4OAk you need to hit to get the SHOCKWAVE bonus. Is it any 4OAK?

So would someone please explain the rules of the game to me?
Generally in shockwave there is a regular quad payout and a shockwave quad payout. If you hit a regular quad you go into shockwave mode for 10 hands. If you get a quad during that 10-hand shockwave period, it pays the shockwave quad amount.
Every Shockwave machine I have seen in Vegas, the Shockwave mode quad payout is the same as a royal flush. My ex hit this once at El Cortez years ago. She was dealt a full house in Shockwave mode and of course went for the quad and hit it.
Saw a guy in Atlantic City do that TWICE in a 10 minute span- for dollars!!!!! (Same Machine) Never happened to me.

Hitting 4 OAKS averages about every 440 hands.

If my calculations are correct, to get a second 4 oak in 10 hands = approximately 2.27%.

(Do Not try this on a Shockwave game, do it on a Bonus VP game where the quads pay high)

Play your normal VP on a multi-demo machine. When you hit 4 Oaks, change to denomination 4 times above you for 10 hands.

Example: Playing $1 DDB. You hit 4 Kings for $250. Change to $5 DDB and Play 10 hands. You'll burn up that win but have a chance to hit a big one.

I started doing this recently, normally don't hit another Oak but a few FH and Flushes did improve my credit balance after 10 hands. Also you're getting paid at the 4x level on ALL wins not just quads.
Here is vpFREE's breakdown of Shockwave pay schedules.

I've never seen better than 11/8 in Las Vegas. But that doesn't mean that 12/8 isn't there somewhere. One of my local casinos has 12/8 in quarters and dollars, but cashback there is only .25%, so even the best version of the game is usually -EV there.

Nothing to do with Shockwave but I hit 4 4oak in the span of 10 hands last weekend. Improbable but true.
Another oldie but goodie thanks to our friend Bagiant. For shockwave VP, any 4 Oak pays 125 coins. Once a 4 Oak is hit during the next 10 hands the machine goes into shockwave mode and if another 4 Oak is hit within those next 10 hands it pays 4000 coins.
