We just had a big funeral here in Cincinnati for an Army Ranger who was just days away from completing his tenth tour in Afganistan. TENTH! His parents are very proud of him. We all are. They miss him very much. Had we ended this bullshit sooner, he might, just might, be sitting at the breakfast table with them enjoying a cup of coffee right now. That's not going to happen because your guy's exit strategy is somewhere off in the misty future. So no, I am NOT the least bit happy that this totally inexperienced nobody from Illinois somehow managed to get himself elected POTUS. To think he is Commander-in-Chief of our military makes me cringe every time I think of it. What does he know of the military? Has his pansy little ass even seen a war movie much less ever been in the service of our country? Like Sen McCain. I like to think that someone of the Senator's war experience would have had the sense to know that the best way to end our envolvement would be to win quickly and get out. Something we are quite capable of doing.
It's really easy to sit back here and talk about a war that's happening thousands of miles away that's only seen on nicely sanitized tele and forget about the pain it causes each and every day to the people fighting it and their loved ones. That's especially true for those that have never been there. This President you are so enamored with made a promise to get us out of a war we should never have gotten into in the first place and here it is 6 years later and our guys are still dieing and for what? Maybe the next President will finally get us out. And I don't care what language he says it in.
