Soccer violence

I thought the recent violence at the soccer exhibition game in Las Vegas was barbaric. Then I read about the soccer ref in Brazil that was stoned to death, quartered(whatever that means), and his head hung on a stake planted in the soccer field. The ref's public execution occurred after he stabbed a player to death after he ejected the player and they fought. It's just a game and a boring game at that IMO.

Why anybody would want to be a soccer ref in SA is beyond me

The sport is so boring that the crowd gets excited when a shot on goal goes wide
yet we have real issues that people do nothing about...if people took real issues as serious as this stupid soccer game maybe we would have a better world to live in.
Boring?Try watching 162 slow as hell baseball games.Nothing could be worse.

Being quartered was a form of execution popularized during the Medieval period of the Middle Ages notably in England and France.

In simple terms it involved dismembering the unfortunate subject of the practice without benefit of anesthesia. In more detailed terms, . . . well, DonDiego will provide that to the truly interested readers via a link:

Wow - quartering could be more fun than drmilled's wood chipper! Definitely more exciting than watching baseball...
Owwies! I'm not sure if that would be worse than the the "bronze bull"(per last painful execution thread) or the other torturous ways to go. I've already been burned w/in an of my life and that was no fun, that's why that bronze bull sounded far and away the worse way to go.But after reading about being quartered,if it would be any better. Hmmmm...after careful cosideration consideration, I believe I'd take the woodchipper any day, at least it would be relatively quick.
