I want to make a graph (histogram) with a month to month comparison of my spending, income and savings. Doing this in Excel would be perfect but I can't get Excel to do what I want. The bars either stack up all 3 or I have 3 separate bars. Does anyone know how to do this in Excel?

The blue bars are income, yellow is savings and blue is spending. That's not really what the colors represent as this if for my job but the analogy works.

Did you try stacked columns?

Thanks. I tried that but it only gives me the two colors with series 1 being the same parameter. I wanted a third color.

I want inventory, production and sales.
I believe you can assign colors in excel.

Either Excel or get a pack of crayons
stacked columns for the first two then a line for the third?
think it was called mixed chart in older excel, combination chart in 2007?
I figured it out. You use stacked columns, insert a row but don't title it and put the third series one row lower than the other two. Then, format the graph and remove the gap between the bars. Insert some additional rows between to make pretty.
