Not at all true, especially so in the context of criminal law. Zero tolerance, and the war on drugs were all part of an agenda pushed by the conservative movement back in the 80s and 90s, and it lead to many rights disappearing. Bush's war on Terror has lead to the disappearance of many more rights. As a result of all of this the 4th amendment is sort of hanging on by a thread right now, and I suppose if the Conservative Supreme court hears and upholds this case it will be gone altogether.

BTW: If I had a $1 for every conservative on LVA that said something along the lines of we shouldn’t allow criminal appeals in death penalty cases I'd be very rich.

The stuff enacted after 911 had to be done because of all of the f'ups caused by someone named CLINTON and his ilk. You know the rule that forbade the FBI and the CIA from talking to each other when it comes to terrorists. BTW, I would be seriously reading that 911 report which is what I am quoting from here. That same idiot Clinton, wanted to try a guy named Bin Laden in a court of law when anyone that deals with terrorists can tell you, you kill them and get rid of the problem.

I'll be one Conservative to admit that some people who call themselves a Conservative should be flogged in the public square and disowned from any government posts because they don't have a clue. Although joining them should be a nice boatload or a hundred of our Liberal folks.

Idiot-don't you know that Prohibition of both alcohol and drugs was one of the pillars of the early "progressive" movement? Harrison Act was signed by Wilson, Marijuana prohibition in 1937 under Roosevelt, draconian methamphetamine penalties under perjurer Clinton, alcohol prohibition under Wilson.
One of the hallmarks of "progressives" is telling other people how to eat, drink, wear seat belts, raise their kids, own guns, play poker, etc., etc., etc.

They cry and bellyache all day long, using the local Richpublican rag paper (started by one of the most corrupt governors of all time, Lennington Small.....google that Repub criminal and get an eyefull of his criminal activities), then at the end of the day, drive themselves to their brand new $500,000 homes in their brand new sport cars, and once getting home, gawk at their brand new SUV's, Tractors, Combines, ATV's, Snowmobiles, and other play toys.

Then, the next day, drive to an early morning breakfast at some god forsaken coffee clutch establishment and bitch and gripe about "how they have nothing"......whilst their illegal immigrant labor does the hard work back on the farm.

A married "family values" man screwing his aide, then giving said campaign aide's hubby a job as a lobbyist, to try and "hush" them up, then when discovered by his own constituents, having his momma and poppa cut a check for $96,000 to the freshly screwed employee, then denying all said wrongdoings, then once discovered, admitting to his screwing of the aide, then saying he would not resign (because it would admit wrongdoing), then finally resigning, then finally delivering a farewell speech on the Senate floor, which was attended by NOT ONE SINGLE SENATOR, then retiring with a BIG FAT GOVERNMENT PENSION !

Now, if I had the next 20 years and unlimited words, I still would not be able to chronicle all the lies, cheating, and criminal activities of the so called Richpublican "family values" politicians !
