South Point Casino /New Construction/

I haven't been to the South Point since last spring. There was construction going on . It my favorite casino and sportsbook.

Has anybody been to the old and new ?

Yes. The work appears to have enlarged the casino, with more slot/VP machines. They also moved the race book so it is effectively behind the wall of the sports book. They also added (I think it's open now) a Steak N Shake restaurant and another bar at the far (South) end of the casino. No changes to the table game area, or the other restaurants. Sorry, no photos.

I've been there not too long ago for their great .75c hot dogs. The race book is now behind the sports book and has a new bar their also. I really like the place also.

I know they had the EMS conferance a few years ago there. Seems like a nice place. Anyone stay there?

I've stayed there twice and highly recommend the place.

I've stayed there my last four trips. They are very reasonable with comps and the restaurants are excellent and not as high priced as the Strip. The buffet is nothing special but the deli has great corned beef sandwiches, the Prime Rib restaurant, Steakhouse, Italian and Mexican restaurants are all on my recommended list. They comped our stay, and meals, each of the last two years and we are on average $15 per hand bj players.

Is the Casino very smokey there?

Not at all. The ventilation system is as good as any others in Vegas.

And I also think it is a great place to stay. They're runing a special on rooms now until Friday. rooms as low as $35.
