southwest airlines question

You know ahead of time what you are getting with Southwest. They only fly 737's to reduce training and maintenance costs. I suspect that they researched reserved seating versus first come first serve, and found that reserved seating took longer and held up flights longer.
Recently took a Sun Country flight. Assigned seats.

They had the passengers WITHOUT carry-on luggage to board FIRST.

And they enforced it at the gate, turned back folks trying to board with carry-on.

Those of us without carry-ons were happy with the process.
Enter plane, find seat, sit down, no waiting.

I've been on flights where the boarded the back of the plane first, the front of the plane first, the window seats first. It's just a painful process anyway it's done. If bags fly free, they're getting checked.
