Southwest question

We are flying Southwest for the first time and we are Southwest Visa credit card holders. I have heard about the drink coupons but don't know how you get them. I have seen some for sale on ebay but don't know if that is really the way to go. Any info on the drink coupons would be helpful
They usually give them to you with upgraded seats, bumped flights, and certain echelons in their frequent flier club.

If you dont fly much EBAY probably is going to be your cheapest bet. Alternatively you can pay an extra $100 for your flight which will include a better position in line and a couple mini's of booze - with a standard coach seat. OR you can really go high class and pay an extra $200 for their fancy "Business Select" package which will give you an even better place in line and the same mini booze things...and a standard coach seat.

Dont pay $100+ for $8 of drink coupons. Just do what I do - put down a bottle of Mad Dog 20/20 in the parking lot and stumble onto your flight. Total cost $2.50
Generally, I get drink coupons on my renewal date. They come via regular mail. The liquor choices are somewhat limited, but are brand names. They are not necessarily premium. I usually get a Bailey's on the rocks.

Looks like a regular junk mail ad, so don't rip them up and toss them.

They send them once a year.
Sit by me. I always try to give my drink coupons away, and mostly nobody is drinking.

Booze has a weird affect on me in the air that I don't like, but what is everyone else's excuse?

Maybe I fly too early in the morning.

I think I have 4 drink coupons that are about to expire(and 4 that are good for a while), and I have no immediate plans to go to Las Vegas. If I can find them I will give them to you. Give me a day or two, if I can find them I will ask for your address.
By the way....RockinRick was 100% correct as the coupons come in an envelope that looks like a credit card bill or a credit card flyer. Always open your envelops from S/W....you never know!

I believe the coupons have your name on them ????
Don't know if the flight attendants check those things.

I rarely use my drink coupons too, ..... as we usually book the first flight out.
In two days we take-off for Vegas at 6:05 AM, which means a 3:00AM get-up.

Yes, the coupons have your first initial, last name, and last 4 of your SWA card number. On the back says "Drink Coupon is void if altered, sold, purchased, brokered or bartered" and some other rules. But doesn't say "non-transferable" or other language indicating the name on the coupon has to belong to the user. I've never noticed anybody being asked, though never really paid attention. I might get a drink this next trip just to find out...ha.
weggie 44: I would love it if you could find them! Not leaving until early October. Just got our southwest credit card so we won't be getting any for close to a year and we do like to drink on the plane
