Speaking of Junk Policies

I found this little nugget of truth tucked away in a politico article today. There is a new kind of Obamacare sticker shock coming:

But a survey of 22 health insurers in six states by Avalere Health, a consulting firm, found that the average deductible is $2,550 in “silver” Obamacare plans (the second-cheapest kind). That’s compared to the $1,135 average that nearly eight out of 10 people in employer-sponsored health plans had to pay.
The deductibles are even higher in “bronze” plans, the cheapest kind. The average bronze deductible was $5,150 — and some were as high as $6,350.

“We all knew this was going to happen, but there could be another round of shock” when people actually try to use their Obamacare coverage and realize it doesn’t pay for everything, said one health insurance industry official.

So all the while calling the canceled policies junk it is actually the Obamacare polices that are junk IMO.
More nuggets are on the way, stay tuned.
folks in North Dakota are just "knocking the door down" to get signed up on the website. They reported 42 YES 42 folks have signed up to date!

Damn at that rate Obama should have 500 people signed up in North Dakota by next November!

The guy who laughs at the idea of sticking hospitals for hundreds of thousands of dollars of unpaid bills say "junk." Consumer Reports disagrees. So who you gonna believe?

Sometimes all you can do is laugh forkie. What should I do? wallow in self pity or feel bad about things I have no control over. At least I don't live in a state of self delusion thinking Obamacare is the greatest thing ever. Sorry to tell you, but it sucks all the way around. It is bad for young folks, bad for old folks, bad for folks that live in rural areas, bad for folks with chronic health conditions and bad for folks that had good polices under the old system.

The only redeeming feature is the expansion of Medicaid and I note that is the part that has nothing to do with private insurance.
Thanks Obama
