Splitting tens

There is NO good play at a 6:5-blackjack-table. One should NEVER sit at a 6:5-blackjack-table.

Splitting tens is reserved for the when the guy next to me lights up a cigar. There are times when it has a small advantage, but the added scrutiny just isn't worth it to me.

yeah, like why would you be sitting at that table in the first place if you take your BJ game serious at all?

Did I say I was sitting at a 6:5 table? No. I merely said a dealer told me this.

You have no idea where I was, what game I was playing, or what generated the conversation that lead to this 'advice' from a dealer.

Thank you for the snarky reply.

I've been with someone who split tens. The dealer turned her head and shouted "splitting tens". None of the suits came over to look at him. I've asked a friendly dealer if he does anything when someone splits tens and he said, "Yeah I check to see if they are nuts". As pointed out earlier, there may be situations where there are many tens and aces left in the deck whereby the advantageous play would be to split the tens. That being said, it isn't worth the hassle or scrutiny.

DonDiego apologizes; he meant no offense to O2bnVegas.

His comment was intended solely to castigate the despicable game of 6:5 Blackjack offered by disreputable, covetous gaming establishments.

Let me know the next time you're in Vegas, playing BJ, and splitting 10s. I love sitting at tables when someone does that. People lose their minds and I do my best stir the pot.

calm down already... perhaps I could have worded it differently. why would ANYONE be sitting at a 6:5 table...
no offense intended.
I DO count down the deck and MAYBE split tens towards the end of the shoe. I usually go with the math and keep my 20.
I won't be splitting up my 20's,unless I'm VERY drunk and then the table will clear out, anyway.
6 deck countdowns will be easier with "team play".

GG October 13-19,anyone? Any THREE? We could kill 'em.
Want to get barred? This is the time.

"Im sorry Dave,we cannot let you play black jack in our casino, now. You are welcome to play our other games, with our compliments. Here is a comp room voucher",says the nice pit person.
