Sprinkles

Wife and I watch Cupcake Wars and wife has taken to baking cupcakes. And, who doesn't like cupcakes, they're great. With the recent fad of specialized cupcake bakeries sweeping the nation it is about time for several in Vegas.

Work took me to downtown Chicago and a 2 minute walk took me to Sprinkles Cupcakes and their $3.50 Choco Loco. My wife's cup cakes are better and come with "benefits".
Pretty good one inside MC can't recall the name.
There is place at M Resort that has 8 or 9 different flavors of gourmet cupcakes.
Snidely, I'm in Chicago this weekend. Would you recommend Sprinkles? Maybe if I can buy Barb a cupcake, I can reap some benefits too!

Right now we're in the middle of Franchise Heaven....every chain restaurant is represented here and in some cases, with multiple locations. Waiting for my stomach bug to pass and to get into the city for some good food.

BTW, the place at M Resort is called Babycakes.

If I was in Chicago, I'd be looking up the restaurants that are featured on Diners, Drive-ins, and Dives and heading to one of those places.

Sprinkles is downtown by the Drake right in the middle of the shopping district. If you're in that part of town, you might as well get a cup cake. I wouldn't make a special trip. Lawry's the Prime Rib and some other nice looking restaurants are only a few blocks away from the cup cakes. We ate at Fulton's last night. It was pretty good for our large party.

I think the one at MC is "The Cupcakery". https://www.thecupcakery.com/

We've tried quite a few cupcake stores in Vegas and so far, this is our favorite: https://www.madaboutcupcakes.com/index.html
I think gourmet cupcakes are running 3 to 4 bucks each, depending upon how many you buy. That aint cheap.
Seems to me the term "gourmet cupcake" should be an oxymoron ?
Dan, I hope you made it out of Franchise Heaven (I assume you mean Schaumburg) with your stomach intact, lol, and are now enjoying the North Michigan Ave. area. My daughter got married at the Drake 11 years ago. It's a beautiful area -- be sure to check out Water Tower Place, the Hancock Bldg., and Navy Pier's ferris wheel.
