Sprinkles

I couldn't agree more, LA...not about the doctor's office having overpriced gourmet goodies in the waiting room...that is just weird. Reminds me of the dentist's offices here that kept having fancy flat screen tvs in each room. I really don't care, just give me my 6 month free cleaning and let me out. I don't need to pay for fancy decor... I digress. Funny, this same place recommended 10k worth of services, yet the hubby and I had not one cavity or complaint.

But anyway, I always get the Turtle Cheesecake, but once a friend wanted to order the traditional that had a sour creamy top and yumm-o, it was delish. I get other ones when other people force me to, but I can't turn down some turtle. I am somewhat of a cheesecake snob. The best thing I had once at a mexican restaurant believe it or not was this deep fried banana cheesecake pastry thing...yummy. I do not like bad cheesecake and have no clue how people can eat that jell-o graham cracker crust stuff, yuck.

Also haven't had one for years and they are hit or miss on freshness (but it is applebee's, I only go when forced and desperate), but that Maple Blondie thing is sooo good when fresh and hot.

Look at all the calories we are saving by having "cyber calories", lmao.

ahh, have you ever tried the chicken and biscuits, it is dessert with mashed potatoes instead, lol...I love that stuff at Cheesecake Factory and it also keeps me from trying other menu items...oooh, tried the monte cristo french toast once

I eat five dollar cupcakes for breakfast.

We did it....I sprung for Sprinkle's.

We waited in a short line to get in the small store. This isn't kitchy like Magnolia in NYC...this is sharp and sleek.

We were in the `hood having had brunch at Gibson's around the corner.

There is a board of the various offerings with little indicators of what they have available at that time. We opted for five....well, I opted for one (Chocolate Marshmallow) and Barb wanted the other four (Cinnamon Sugar, Chcololate Peanut Butter, White w/ Chocolate, and Chocolate w/ Chocolate). The latter went to the housekeeper at the hotel. The total tab was $17.80....enough to keep RT in Ring Dings for a month.

The thought of eating these after lunch was a bit much so Barb did a quick random one bite sample while I napped. Now, freshly awaken after an afternoon hibernation, I was ready to eat! While I'm no cupcake connoisseur, I have to say that I enjoyed my Sprinkles. The cake was moist and the chocolate topping was decadent. There are two more starring us in the face but these little suckers are filling.

Going to pass on dinner tonight. Have had meals at Coco Pazzo Cafe, Catch 35, Bistro 110, Mortons and Gibsons over the last three days and my stomach is saying "enough!".

Have a flight out at noon tomorrow so no time for a Polish pre-flight (much to the relief of my fellow travelers).

Chicago is a more manageable, less crowded and "friendlier" version of NYC. I like it here....too bad the weather and vp are pretty crappy.

Too bad you didn't venture out to North Clark St. for the best, at least in my opinion, Mexican food in the USA...Frontera Grill, Topolobampa, Xoco.

I would hope that 3.50 to 5.00 cupcakes were made in the last 24 hours. I would hate to spend that kind of money on two day old cupcakes.

Leo, I realize that there were a ton of options that we could have considered....we simply ran out of time. The other factor was that we're unfortunately creatures of habit to some degree.

I have more work to do in this area which means that we'll likely be back pretty often over the next year and I appreciate your suggestions.

Thanks,

Dan
You guys realize of course that the equivalent of five of the $5 cupcakes can win you $20,000 in video poker? Or more at a progressive. And the video poker game won't clog your arteries or add calories. In fact, the VP game might actually make you lose some weight from the continuous motion of heavy weight presses.
