I once was drawn to sports because they were "sporting", in the British sense of the word (i.e., fair, civilized, etc.). Now unchecked cheating, biased referees, and industrial espionage seem to be par for the course. Perhaps this is why I find gambling to be a bit more interesting these days.
Doyle Brunson wins, but gets no special treatment from the dealers (a la Greg Maddux, Michael Jordan, etc.). Phil Hellmuth might act like a jackass (which I could do without), but he doesn't break the rules of the game and lie about it.
