So its really a case of what mechanism our public schools use to identify students' genders: the one offered up by scientists? Or the one offered up by people who teach dinosaurs walked the earth with humans?

I think the administration has got it right. And I'm confident history will bare that out.

The American College of Pediatricians responds:
The American College of Pediatricians is an tiny little (60-200 members) ultra right-wing anti-gay hate group. But they have an impressive sounding name.

Which is what DonDiego was counting on.

Ahh, . . . but The American College of Pediatricians cited the Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of the American Psychiatric Association (DSM-V).5 which classifies transgender behavior as a "recognized mental disorder". The American Psychiatric Association numbers over 60,000.

forkushV is correct that the name American College of Pediatricians is impressive, . . . a lot more impressive than poor old DonDiego's social association, the College of Crotchety Old Men [CCOM], and more members too.

And I suppose you included all those other words from the hate group just for fun. Or did you need the typing practice?

The DSM-5 disorder diagnoses transgenders who are stressed because they are stigmatized by, you know, horrible human beings. Like the folks at your hate group. And the people who quote them. Funny how that works out.

Sadly, I don't have any ultra wealthy friends.

Billy pointed out some time ago that he believes that the transvestites should be allowed to pee where ever they feel most comfortable.

I then asked if the comfort of non-transvestites was of concern.

Billy was clear that that was of no concern to him.

Billy proves, once again, that he believes that the rights of some should be protected, and those that he disagrees with should have their rights stripped away.

Possibly this is why I love golf so. The course is my urinal.

If IndyBoilerman (aka Boilerman) linked to the US Constitution, Billy would quickly point out that the Constitution should be disregarded, since it's link was posted by the evil right wing hate mongering, IndyBoilerman.

Ya just gotta love that anyone (or group) that has differing views than Forky (and most lefties for that matter) is instantly labeld a hate group. "Don't agree with me on open bathrooms?, HATER!", "Don't agree with me on gay marriage? HATER!", etc, etc. Nice tolerance level, ummm, isn't that the whole thing you're preaching about? Tolerance? I guess it's another do as I say you should feel or act, just don't do as I do say or act. So pathetic.
The amazing thing about the internet is one can research groups with fancy sounding names and find out for themselves if they are what they appear to be. In this case, the ACP seems to be just as described above. A very small, right leaning group of doctors who are anti gay marriage, anti single parent family, anti gay rights, and obviously anti transsexual.
Fancy name though.

Had boils stayed in school, he might have learned in civics that the purpose of the Constitution is not to protect the rights of the many, nor the rights of the rich and powerful, but to protect the rights of the few and powerless.
Just as Nazis have the right to March through Jewish neighborhoods, so do minorities have rights that may make the majority uneasy.
Until all are equal, none are equal.
