Background--I have been coming to Vegas 3-4 times a year for a while now. My trip budget has went up from $1200 when I first started playing to about $2500 now on average. I play whatever I feel like, prefering PaiGow, BJ, and some baccarat and slots/vp. But the last 3 years, I havent been able to eek out a profit. Usually Ive been losing 1500 a trip.
I had been allured to the strip with CET's free rooms and such, but I decided to return to my roots and I took up the 4 queens on an offer of 2 free nights $20FSP and one night casino rate $24.
7/24 Flew in Contiental.. should of upgraded to first class. Damn the seats are small, Im 6'2 and I could hardly fit. Flights were fine no problem. Got picked up by Las Vegas Transportation, Alvin gave me a nice ride downtown no problem.
Checked in, room is downtown size=small. Nice flatscreen, in room safe. No problems with room or noise in room 1511. (3 snoozes)
Went to play VP at Chicago brewing company lost 50 on vp, then met up with Stormhawk on his maiden legal trip. Had a couple of IPAS. (3.25 burps) Chatted, had a cigar then hit the Single deck BJ table. It's the best game at the 4Q, but I dislike the doubling restriction. Ended up winning $62, Stormhawk lost $100.
Monday 7/25 Went to the Paradise buffet at the fremont,it was 7.99 (had no points) Paradise......it is not but edible and hot. (2 forks)
Then made a downtown multi-casino run.
Blackjack at the Vegas Club----double deck, H17 w DAS, not terrible. But I lost 180 quickly. By the way....WTF is that smell at the Vegas Club.
Golden gate--six deck shoe H17 DAS, not really a good game but had a great table and a great vibe and won $80
Played Wheel poler at binions broke even-------this games comes into play later in the trip.
Went over to MSS, lost 40 on VP at the boar's head bar, tried thier pale ale. (2.5 burps) Then won back 02 on some slot and sat down to DD game. Typical Boyd Rules, H17 no DAS. Had a great table with a guy from Italy and a couple watchin their son play in a basketball tournament in town. (He lost) Great dealer, great time.....lost $80
Then I did the ultimate degenerate thing....bingo at the vegas club, bought a $24 electronic pack and didnt hit shit. But I had like 4 bloody marys so its all good in the hood. (I gave a $2 tip on the first one and the waitress could stop thanking me)
Mosied on over to the 4q and lost 50, then lost $200 on their PGP. Played a texas tea slot for .25 (9lines) and hit the big oil bonus and got all 5 derricks, first time that ever happened to me! I won little over $200 on that!
Went over to the fitz and played Pai gow mania and won $90, had dinner at the coffee shop there and did the pasta bar, its not bad for $5.99 made to order pasta, I can get all my extra garlic.
BTW for all the cigar smokers.....
Downtown there is a shop in the back of Binions Paul Vato Cigars, they roll their own and have a few other premium brands (padron, ashton) and they are b3 get one free. I got 4 of their "cuban blend" nice draw, nice spice little hint of vanilla good mouth feel (3.75 puffs)
Played Spanish 21 at Fitz, the variation the fitz has allows you to redouble up to 3 doubles, I am unsure at times of BS, so I put my card from the wizard of odds right on the table. Played 2 hands 10 each and 5 on Match the dealer, If I hit the match I would press it up (Carny chasing on a side bet I know)
Was NOT going well, about 1.5 hours later I'm in for $700 when a couple of younger players sat down and the vibe changed, I got back to 300 and then when they left I went on a tear, hitting some big blackjacks, and 2 redoubles, along with a 6 card 21(pays 2-1) getting back all my money.
Played a few coin droppers at the fitz, and a nickel machine called flip flop upstairs, lot of fuin, hit texas tea there, ended up winning 30 bucks.
All told I lost like 120 that day.
Wednesday 7/26
Went to KK at the fitz to use wifi. Helped a homeless guy check his email to write to his long lost lover in South Africa. (Maybe if he stopped drinking heavily she'd come back)
Went to fremont played press your luck slots and got 40 bucks. Hit the pool deck at binions..............sweet. (4 ahhs) Small pool but great view and a nice breeze.
Hit a $1.00 pinball game at 4Q and hit 50bucks Bet the Phillies -110 for $40 bucks which hit. Wanted a free drink, and there are no drink tickets at 4Q (but better odds with Cal-Neva) So I did the typical idiot thing. Instead of paying $2.00 for a drink, I put $20 to show on an even money shot at the fremont (got 2 tickets) Fininshed last............shit.
Also bet the dodgers -165 for a couple bucks. hit
Played a little bit of everythihng over at the Elco ened up plus $25, also payed a visit to the Western....damn it's sad. I never saw so many flys in a public place. I felt bad taking their $20....almost.
Gambled all day.....won like $80 bucks.
Thursday 7/27
Had breakfast over the the MSS (3.5 forks) nice buffet...Crispy bacon.
Rented a car at the fitz and went over to red rock, no problem checking into the room early. Beautiful rooml, canyon view. (4 winks) I hit the gym, sauna, whirlpools and felt like a new man.
Bet 40 bucks of the philllies---they lost. Chased putting 20 ont he dbacks and 30 on the dodgers, only the Dbacks won.
Played some wheel poker again.....had $50 xpc, started with nickels, lost and chased with dimes. got the bonus real quick and hiot for $400 sweet. Went over to Cabo cantina and had some excellent mojitos and guac, really nice,
Chile rellenos were huge, but the ranchero sauce was bland (3 oles!)
charged to room. ($25 food credit with offer) Now UP $220 for the trip YES

Won a couple of bucks on slots, did not plan on gambling at all. Went to the pool, its quite nice a a good scenery. Had a $16 drink

Went back to the safe and got $700. Went to the wheel poker deluxe, was all the way down to $50 bucks till I got a full house dealt (was playing deuces) and hit the bonus for ONE THOUSAND DOLLARS!!!!!!!!!
My carny chasing worked, I am up $500 for the trip and OUTTA HERE!!!!!!!
