STOP the Royal Flush MADNESS !!!

For the last year or so there has been a very intense competition among certain VP players to have the greatest total of royal flushes.

However, the real issue in VP play is NOT how many royals you hit, but if you win or lose money... isn't it?

So, Im suggesting that we skip the royal flush madness and invite our regular VP players to let us know their running win/loss tally and that way we'll know who the better players are... and who the real BEST of the Best is!!

Me? Im out of the running already. On my very first trip, I am down about four-grand. No royals either. Im just a spectator when it comes to watching the "race to be VP king/queen."

Be brave now. Let us know the number that really counts. If you dare...

I like the RF thread but I never saw it as a competition.
Winning or losing doesn't make you a better or worse player. Winning just makes you luckier.

My loss for my one day of play this year so far is $3500 with one royal. If that royal had come when I was playing dollars (like I was for 90% of the day) I would be a winner, but it came when I was playing dimes and that was only about 1% of my play that day.

It's all just luck.
justmare, so how do you measure success in video poker if not by winning? just curious.

I thought the goal was to have a fun time. Some of us seem to have more fun than others.
Success is definitely winning, but you still have to get lucky enough to be sitting at that machine when it decides to hit. You also have to know when to walk away. That's MY problem.

I did have a winning year last year. I posted my stats somewhere else and can't remember the exact figures, but it was something like 31 W2Gs for a total of $82k+ and a bottom line win of $15k. I have to admit that 2010 was the first winning year I've had since 2004, though!

Obviously, the number of royals a person hits in a year shouldn't be the deciding factor when it comes to the most successful of the year, but I don't really think that's what that thread is all about. It's simply which person got the most royals that year.
Actually, it turned into a competition for the most royals, and if you read the early posts, it is a competition again. Im just curious about those "bottom lines." LOL
Personally, I'm just throwing money away at VP and not keeping tab at all. I don't play nearly enough to be wasting any serious coin, so why bother counting?????

I guess you're right, Money, but it's all still just in fun.

I can think of one very good reason to bother counting -- taxes! If you happen to hit a W2G at any time during the year you'll need to keep track of your win/loss so you can offset your win!
