Ok. I'll start with my apology. I'm very sorry the Patriots history of cheating has caused many people to just assume this spontaneous ball deflation was probably caused by someone from the Patriots attempting to gain an advantage in violation of the rules.

There are clearly other more feasible explanations. Equipment Malfunctions, Atmospheric Conditions, Sabotage, Invisible Ball Sucking Gremlins.

Let's get this straight. Some rogue ball boy or equipment manager for the NE Patriots took it upon himself to deflate balls after they were returned by the NFL refs just before the game. Mind you, he did this without being instructed to do so and without the knowledge of Belichick or Brady. Brady, and the various Pat receivers then went into the game and did not notice that the balls were slightly flat, even though Brady has probably thrown 50,000+ passes during his life and his receivers have caught thousands of passes also.

This rogue ball boy or equipment manager also made the assumption that Brady and his receiving corp. would do better with the slightly deflated balls rather than the normally inflated balls or overinflated balls

I know, that's as far fetched as some lowly clerks in a Cincinnati office who one time....oh, different story
No sports story is complete unless you have Bill Nye "The Science Guy" weighing in on the subject.

The Science Guy says Belichick made no sense with explanation.

Disclaimer: The Science Guy is an admitted Seahawks fan.
This story has had legs for many more news cycles than I predicted.

The odds on the game have been holding pretty steady.

Patriots' Equipment Manager

The lowest order of primate always takes the fall.

Breaking News!! The NFL has a person of interest! It is none other than a Patriots Locker Room Attendant who allegedly disappeared from view after taking balls from the officials locker room to another area on the way to the field...Don Diego may be right once again!!...although a Locker Room Attendant is a lower order of primate than 'Equipment Manager'.

Just a rumor...though...with unnamed sources...and it's from Fox Sports...so there's that angle.

Yep, apparently the NFL in possession of a video that shows the guy taking the balls and going into another room with them before the game. I suspect serious punishment will be dealt to “Shady” Brady and the Patriots after the season. Given Brady's age maybe he will opt for retirement if he is facing a year off.
I believe as we approached last year's superbowl the Broncos were favored. We know how that game turned out. And would have turned out if they'd played it 10 more times. I expect the same thing to happen this time.

The moment that Brady retires or goes to another team is the moment that Belichick's retirement clock starts ticking. Belichick may coach one more season past Brady leaving, but I wouldn't expect any more than that.

I disagree. Bilichick cheats, but he's also a great coach. He will unfortunately be around for a while.
