Homer.
Yeah, anyone not thinking the Pats did this on purpose is kidding themselves.
Yeah, anyone thinking the Pats did this on purpose is not thinking. - Corrected to state the TRUTH.- You are welcome...
I agree with Malibber. There is no reason to question why 24 balls left the stadium with a minimum pressure of 12.5 psi, and only 12 balls magically changed pressure.

So he brought two large bags that contained 24 footballs inside the restroom with him to take a leak? Right after retrieving the two large bags from the official's locker room a few seconds earlier?

In what universe does that make any sense at all?

More than likely he was slipping a needle in the bag which could be used to deflate the balls inside the bag once they were brought onto the field.

As far as proof goes it doesn't have to be proof like the Patriots fan's want. The NFL uses the "more likely than not" standard as is used in civil cases around the country. The NFL used this standard when suspending Sean Payton for bounty gate. They had no hard proof he knew about it. They just said it was more likely than not he knew about it. The same standard will be applied to the Patriots. 11 of 12 balls did not deflate themselves and absent proof they did the Patriots will get sanctioned.

So with all of the above suggestions on what to do IF cheating is proven......since Happycamper assumes DonDiego would not be so bold as to break stride with the American way of being innocent until proven guilty, and Happycamper suggests that either differences in atmospheric conditions or possibly a slightly lax checking of the balls by officials prior to the game in the first place would be easier to believe, IF the Patriots are guilty, how would DonDiego suggest that the doctoring was done and how? With so many cameras on the field at all times, when could they have tampered with the footballs and done so with 11 of the 12 balls all being checked at the same low level of pressure? All Happycamper can picture is the Asian gentleman from Oceans 11 being inside the ball bag the whole time without being detected due to his diminutive size, popping out at just the right time and concealing a precision pressure deflation gauge to be used in dastardly ways. Or does DonDiego have another suggestion?
__IF cheating is proved DonDiego will allow the NFL to determine the appropriate punishment.
__Being innocent until proven guilty applies to the US Justice system; The NFL may assume whatever it chooses, subject to subsequent civil lawsuit[s].
__Bill Nye, The Science Guy and astrophysicist Neil deGrasse Tyson state the slight change in atmospheric conditions is insufficient for the observed deflation:

Ref: Business Insider
__Charging lax checking by the officials assumes the officials are negligent.
__The "doctoring" involves inserting an inflation needle into the inflation hole briefly, . . . not a complex activity.
__When they were in a restroom.
__DonDiego has no personal knowledge or theory of the incredible football deflation.

In addition to Bill Nye & Neil deGrasse, Jim Jenkins a spokesperson for Wilson Sporting Goods Co. (manufacturer of all NFL footballs) suggested “maybe in a year or two” the PSI would fluctuate after being introduced to different environments... He did, however, relent that the ball’s pressure may change if you put it in a freezer, then unfreeze it. " “Not going to say,” Jenkins said when asked what he thought about Belichick’s explanation before immediately relenting with a laugh. “That’s BS. That’s BS, man.”

That's BS

Even better than a simple inflation needle, I'd suggest a device like the Tachikari Digi-Guage. With it's bleed-off valve and highly accurate digital readout one could quickly deflate a ball to an NFL quarterback's exacting specifications.

Thank You! I was thinking there was probably a device with some type of gauge/setting that would quickly deflate something to a specified PSI. I am thinking this SB will be Brady's Swan Song. He is too old to deal with a long suspension and then come back the next year. Win or loose a suspect a retirement announcement will be coming soon.

New quote from Brady and he doesn't sound so confident about his innocence.
Quote

"I asked [Brady] at one point, 'so you're telling me, when this investigation is complete, which the [NFL] is now saying will not be until after the Super Bowl, you will be — I don't think I used the word exonerated — but, be they fan or foe, no one will be able to pin anything on Tom Brady,'" Costas told Dan Patrick. "and he said something to the affect of 'well, let's just wait and see how it comes out.' Which I thought was an intriguing answer.
