I didn't think it was that big of a deal and I hate the evil empire (New England Patriots). This story seems to get more momentum each hour. What's that cliche' about the cover-up being far worse than the crime?

This isn't the something minor this is a complex scheme to modify game balls after they were inspected by the refs to gain an unfair advantage and according to reports this dates back at least until November. Think about the level of sophistication it would take to modify the game balls after the inspection and hidden from the view of TV cameras on game days.

If a student plaigarizes one paragraph out of a 20 page paper, he fails. Maybe he gets expelled.

If a bank executive embezzles 1% of the institiution's net worth, he goes to prison.

The patriots should not be playing in the superbowl.

If the NFL really wants to make a statement, they would replace the Patriots with the Tennessee Titans in the Super Bowl.

I'm from Indianapolis and I hate the Patriots. I hope that next year those guilty get pounded and that the team loses several high draft picks. HOWEVER, it's not realistic to kick the Patriots out of the Super Bowl. Do the Colts, who've been vacationing, substitute?
