Surprised at no mention

No one seems to want to comment on Mr Obama's visit to Japan. Laying a wreath at the memorial to those lost in Hiroshima over 70 years ago.

I, for one, am not holding my breath until a Japanese head of state lays a wreath for those lost at our WWII Memorial. Hells Bells, I'm not even sure that Obama has done that! Not being his biggest fan, I'm not sure. A quick search yielded little.....except for his blocking vets from going there during the government shutdown.

Eight more months.....just eight more months.
" . . . Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe on Wednesday rejected the idea of visiting Pearl Harbor to reciprocate for President Barack Obama’s historic trip to Hiroshima . . . "

Well, at least there's that.
"We who were enemies are now friends. ... We who were bitter adversaries are now the strongest of allies. ... In the place of fear we have sown trust, and out of the ruins of war has blossomed an enduring peace."
My father stood at Ground 0 in Hiroshima 6 months after the bomb was dropped. He was part of the occupation force and was stationed 20 miles from Hiroshima for 2 years. He's got a lot of stories about that experience. Saturday we'll make our annual 30 mile trek to the small town where he was born and lay flowers on the graves of our ancestors. There's a section there where several from his high school class are buried that never made it back from WWII.

How gracious of forkush to say that to lvfritz.

People who wish to live in a world without WMD's tend to be thoughtful and responsible about recognizing our country's own history in that arena. But lucky for Fritz we have another chcken hawk neo-con running for office that thinks we need not practice what we preach. Freedom fries for everyone!

You're talking about the chicken hawk neo-con who voted to authorize the Iraq War, right?

So honorable and respectable. Forky and PJ love to find a way to disrespect that.
And the president also said:

"All these children of God, under bleak and lifeless mounds, the plainness of which does not even hint at the unspeakable acts that created them. Here they lie, never to hope, never to pray, never to live, never to heal, never to laugh, never to cry.... And then, rising above all this cruelty, out of this tragic and nightmarish time, beyond the anguish, the pain and suffering, and for all time, we can and must pledge: never again."
