Suzanne Somers Ends her run at Westgate

This is too bad, I would have liked to have seen this.
From the LV SUN

Somers ends run
I never really understood it in the first place. I thought they had a good hook with the Elvis link and new ties to Graceland...but that doesn't look like it's going anywhere either. Who am I kidding. That joint went to shit the day they closed Quarks.

Ain't that the truth.
And to add insult to injury, they are using the Quark's space to sell timeshares.

I believe (but can't confirm) that Westgate is a resuscitated version of David Seigel's timeshare factory circa 2008 that lived at Planet Hollywood until it/he went bankrupt. I don't know whether Seigel is involved in this timeshare shakedown company.

To me Suzanne Somers will always be the Thighmaster.

The Westgate ( LVH at the time) was the first hotel I stayed in Vegas. At the time it was the largest hotel in the country. So I have a sentimental spot for the hotel, even as it has declined over the years. I get regular emails from them with various deals, so it looks like it is still struggling.
1. Location

2. Most tourist have to take the monorail to get there (overpriced and a long walk thru a Strip casino).

They had serious problems with room quality after the change to Westgate. Yelp/Tripadvisor was packed full of complaints with people having a bad experience with shabby furnishings/ bad plumbing / etc....

I haven't paid attention over the past year to see if they've improved but its safe to say this place doesn't maintain the same level of quality as it did during the Hilton years. With the Riviera gone you would think Westgate would pick up many customers attending the convention center events. Seems like better mgmt and a fresh dose of investment would make a world of difference.
