I read that Wikipedia article also. So where SPECIFICALLY is the evidence that the refugees continued coming during the Cuban missile crisis? And how did they get around the Naval blockade?

BTW - did you hear the Clinton foundation re-filed several years of tax returns this week and disclosed additional foreign donors ..... what a surprise! I thought there may be some sort of conflict of interest soliciting / collecting money from foreign donors while Secretary of State. But, I guess it must be OK if you use your own private email server.

I just love it when someone tries to justify their present day thoughts with something totally different from 60 years ago. And then calls people names while he tries to change the subject. Sound like anyone we know here?

Just out of curiosity......did the gov't have to support the parental units of the aforementioned Marco and Ted? Seems to me that I recall them working for a living and even assimilating into the great American melting pot. Of course, I could be mistaken.

I thought that you joking when comparing Cuban Catholics and Muslims. I don't know too any Catholics who believe that they must kill all non-Catholics in order to be granted a place in Heaven.

If PJ listed to the Turkish Muslims at a recent soccer game chanting "Allahu Akbar" during a moment of silence for those killed by Muslims in Paris, then you might reconsider your comparisons.

I for one am damned glad all those Cubans came over. I have lived in central Florida since 1958 and grew up on Cuban food. Palomilla steak with black beans and rice. Plantanos and café con leche. Who could forget a real Cuban sandwich pressed. Top any of these off with a nice flan.

All kidding aside, most of my friends are Cubans, I am cracker through and through. Most of the Cubans I know are loyal friends that are hard working honest people.

First words from the White House is that we need to get them vetted, find housing and get them food stamps! Wow that is just what we need now, more folks on welfare!

Comparing Cubans coming over is no way the same as these modern day refugees from the Middle East. Do I feel their pain of a war torn country? Yes, I do. The risk of taking them is higher than any payday we may get from them.
We can help in many ways but allowing them to come here is not the "help" I want us lending.

Meanwhile our President is defying the thoughts on what 31 or more state governors are asking? Nice, real nice.
I don't think we have had Washington so out of touch of the wants of the American people. I just don't mean democrats either, both parties can share this blame.

Almost 60% of the country is not in favor of this program. Congress is taking up a vote in pausing this program. Lets see how many democrats are in favor of a less safe America

I am all for letting the refugees into our country. All the children under 16 years of age. Mothers of said children and those over the age of 60.

Still going to have some problems. Some of the kids will be, or already are, radicalized. But most will learn the joys of x-box and hanging out at shopping malls. Give 'em an education, send them to a trade school.

I personally know plenty of muslim imigrants, mostly Persian, that have assimilated into our culture. Granted these folks are muslim like a lot of folks consider themselves Catholic just because their parents were Catholic.
