I didn't think it was long...
My husband wanted to try hash a go go so I think we will check it out...( I think there are some on the strip also)
I enjoyed your poker report but I am not sure if I could stay up that late for poker... Is that a normal time for poker to go on until...downtown.
I will make sure to check it out.

The food at Hash house was very good and ALOT of it. 4 of us barely put a dent in 3 plates.

There are really only two poker rooms of note downtown, Binions and Golden Nugget. Binions is a really nice room. A must see if you like poker. But, unfortunately they dont get much of a crowd and the games can be tight and thin.
The GN usually has 5 or 6 games going each night. At least one table will usually last all night but I have broken the the last table around 5 or 6 AM before. That particular night was a rarity and because of all the action there were people standing around trying to get into the game all night. When I left Between 8:30 and 9:00 in the morning someone immediately sat down in my place.

Nice Trip Report.

............. and I'm very impressed,

"at least two drinks" at almost every casino Downtown, coupled with Deep Fried Twinkies,

then the next morning, "Meat Loaf Hash, Fried Chicken and Waffles, Buttermilk Biscuits and gravy".

Thanks for taking the time to write and share.

Rick

Well, as a disclaimer. We're talking free casino drinks, they're not that big, and we did do alot of walking. And it was over a 6 or so hour time period. Oh, and I didn't have a Twinkie.
And when I say breakfast thats usually around 11:00.

I played with Eskimo Clark in a tournament in Bell, Ca. He was a hot player at the time winning lots of tourneys in CA. and Reno. To this day I swear I should have never laid down A-K suited when he raised. But I'll never know now. I haven't seen his name in ages so he must not be doing so well.

Eskimo didn't look all that great. And while he played solid he was a little shortstacked for a table with that much action. He only bought in $200 at a time and acted like it was all he had. From the railbird gossip, it probably was. A couple of bad beats and he left mumbling to himself. It's hard for me to imagine having won millions of dollars and being broke, but apperantly it happens all the time.
