If your using the TV for a monitor, switch the input button until you get to the correct device. (HDMI 1,2,3 etc). Hook it up just as you do a DVD player or VCR.
I didn't even know that was possible. I'm going to try it with mine. Our dvd player in the bedroom broke.

Tony, yea I got the video selected to correct slot(hdmi1 and of course had to try all of them) but zilch, only get movie on the screen.

I don't know if it's important but,;the set up is i'm using the tablet for the wireless access, the TV itself is on satellite. My son is doing the exact same thing in his room and no problems throwing any signal from his laptop to his tv so I'm stumped.

Satellite receiver should not make any difference as it's a matter of the wiring.

I'm assuming here that the adapter is wireless and transmits the signal via the HDMI to the TV. Then you have something on the wireless side (tablet/adapter) that is not making connection to the HDMI. Check the config on the adapter and tablet so that the tablet is transmitting a signal to the adapter. (if you can, kill the encryption so your working with as clean signal as possible. Then try it.)

Remember the steps of what your doing and that should help in the troubleshooting process.
Thanks Tony, I'll give it a shot and let you know.
I use my ipad for netflix on our tv and sometimes we have to unplug it and then plug it back in to get the tv to reconize it. Not sure what causes that but once you get it all pluged in and going try unplugging the hdmi and then plug it back in.
