Taxi wait times at McCarran

Generally we do the rental car thing, but this year I'll be taxiing from the airport. In the past I've experienced some long lines but I'm arriving this Thursday and hopefully will beat the crowd.

What can I expect for a wait before I'm heading to my hotel?

Thursday should be very little wait

Thursday before Labor Day might be a longer wait than normal. Last Saturday, it took longer to walk through the taxi maze (two mins) than it did to get the cab. There were about 20 people "in line" but cabs arrived in time to load everyone and keep the line moving. If you have four or more people, a limo or towncar might be the way to go, if the line is long.

If we had a few more of us arriving at the same time, I would rent a limo. Only two of us are flying in from Indy, however. Thanks, and I'll cross my fingers that the wait is short.

Seem to remember something here long ago about getting a red cap who will take you to the front of the line. Tip him for handling your luggage of course.

Yep, last time I was there I saw them.

We did that a few years ago, my friend and I eached tipped him $5 (we only had 1 bag each). The people in line kind of give you the evil eye, but who cares you're paying for it.
