Taxi

This maybe a dumb question, but is taking the tunnel the same as taking the freeway when going to the strip from the airport?
You can leave the airport northbound and get on the freeway at Tropicana, without going thru the tunnel.
The tunnel goes South about 4 miles before going North and adds quite a bit of $$$ to any cab trip. Whether going to the Strip or Downtown, make sure the taxi exits the airport going North (towards the Stratosphere) and try to avoid the strip wherever possible as slow traffic / stop lights also add to the cost.
Better than a taxi, use Lyft or Uber.

There are promo codes available for free first rides, etc. If you PM me, I'll be happy to forward you a referral code for either or both.

The "ride share" companies are significantly less expensive than taxi's, and usually much nicer and cleaner cars.

The only drawback is that you must have a smart phone, download the app, and sign up with some sort of debit or credit card. You can use a prepaid debit card for that purpose. Actually a simple process.

I use both here is beautiful south Florida frequently, and by choice, over 100 rides in the past year, and have had zero issues or complaints.

When I take a taxi from the airport, I always politely request the route. Once the driver knows you are familiar with LV, there is not a problem.
