how do you stand it??

Well for starters, Mohegan Sun and Foxwoods are about an hour from home. They have pretty much everything Vegas does, without the airfare. The properties are absolutely beautiful. AC is 3.5 hours so it's driveable. So..that's pretty much it in a nutshell.

Haven't made a trip to Vegas in like 4 years...and it now appears, I'll be going Sept 2012. Excited, no not really. We are planning on using our timeshare and staying at the Marriot Grande Chateau. Our last trip was a good time, but a losing trip. I am so disappointed that City Center took the beautiful view away.

Sounds like you've been getting in some great travel this year. Good on ya'!!
Yea, I have, been to aruba twice in 3 years, Seattle twice in 3 years, Virginia/DC a few times, Fulton Chain of lakes, in upstate NY for a boating/jetski vacation, Florida for a wedding...So, Vegas wasn't really missed. Now we are planning a wedding.

We live about 45 minutes from Mohegan and Foxwoods, but I'd rather stay at home and save $ for the airfare and go to Vegas 3 or 4 times a year. To me there is no comparison. Vegas is more upbeat with lots to do and I like to be able to leave a casino if my luck is lousy and just walk to the next one and lose more money there and so on and so on... I guess I just like to spread my money around.

We just got back last week and I'm so depressed I can't even write a TR. That's why I'm living on my various Vegas boards to get me through.

Jealous of your upcoming trips,

Beth
We had to cancel my Birthday trip this week so I have rebooked for Thanksgiving.

Five nights at Cosmopolitan.

Just booked five comped nights in a Luxury Go Room at the Flamingo starting May 5th. Need to add two more nights somewhere, will have to wait for some offers to come in from Stations or Coast to complete our stay.
Finished rebooking. Leaving November 23rd. Special thanks to the nice lady at Aeroplan who understood

when we had to cancel the day before, and managed to get us on direct flights after convincing the

powers that be to release revenue seats to us even though we were flying on points.

Five nights at Cosmopolitan.
Just booked my airfare for my next trip. Got it for a decent price 219.00 plus tax. Total price was 514.80 for two people on American from Dallas.

Will book rooms when my comp offers come in.

Hope to end my royal drought this trip.
Had my previous trip shortened by Irene earlier in the year. Always checking for cheap airfare and caught a decent rate($265 from BWI) for an early December trip. I will be staying at the GN as I have had available 3 free nights from their Private Arrangements program going unused. It may be a while after this before I make another trip out there as the hassle of flying is starting to get to me.
Just made our reservations thru Vacations Hawaii for Feb. 19th. Will be staying at Main Street Station. Five nights. $599 plus tax, per person. Includes airfare, room, transportation to and from MSS and the airport plus meal coupons good at California, Fremont, MSS and Sam's Town. Was also able to upgrade to premium seating (more leg room) for $50 extra. Used my VH/Boyd segments to knock $50 off. So back to the original $599 + tax. Can't wait. Hope the MRB will be available. Already ordered the ACG. Plan on using them both if they get here to Hawaii in time.
Those meal coupons are sweet! Boyd provides 3 meal coupons per day for 4 or 5 days (covering the entire duration of the trip) which covers breakfast, lunch, and dinner. Depending on where one uses the coupon it can cover the entire cost of a meal including a beverage. If used at a buffet there may be an additional supplemental charge ranging from $2 - $5 (I forget). I believe the meal coupon book includes a specialty coupon which can be used for the seafood buffet with a $5 supplemental charge or that specialty coupon can be used to cover the prime rib special at the Cal (with no additional charges I believe) which comes with a trip to the salad bar, a cherries jubilee for dessert, and a beverage. Those meal coupons are the best.
