That free wind power is proving to be quite expensive

Liberals always ignore the true costs of wind power. Now that several states are producing a bunch of the stuff, reality is shining the light on the truth to show that wind power is crazy expensive. Boiler has been making this point for years, but Liberals wished, and still wish, to ignore the truth.

Natural gas an nuclear power

My preferred plan would be to build Nuclear Fusion Plants powered by Helium-3 mined on the Moon. That might take a while though.

No worry because some of our US carbon based energy is so cheap and abundant now that we have to burn off the natural gas byproduct for lack of transport and storage facilities.

We should be spending money on R&D for cheap sustainable energy, but until we find a good replacement we should not be producing expensive energy. Instead of wasting money there, we can use all or some of this waste on more research and development.

Two words: "Dilithium Crystals"

Or: "nuclear fusion". Lockheed Martin just announced a breakthrough in nuclear fusion development. In the past such announcement have proven overly optimistic.

The article does not conclude what Boilerman (and the author) would like you to believe it concludes.

The article says ELECTRICITY prices are higher in states with the most wind power. I have no doubt that is true. The author does not show if the higher prices are due to wind...he just notes the correlation and wants the reader to assume cost increase are due to wind instead of other variables.. Mission accomplished (at least for some of his readers).

None of the states in the article get more than 28% of their electricity from Wind....some less than 10%

Electricity prices can go higher in places where there is massive population and economic expansion (like the Dakotas)...or to pay for new grid infrastructure (like the Dakotas).... or higher costs from other power sources. But the author does not consider any of these factors or even bother to research the variables of the electricity costs in the states he lists.

I don't have the data handy that shows Dollars per KW/hr for each power type in each state the author lists (and neither does he)....but that would be the responsible and accurate way to report the costs he is talking about.

I suspect wind is more expensive than nat gas and coal...and also carries less risk, pollution, and long term environmental effects - which is why I advocate its development.
Germany has moved more rapidly towards wind and solar than any other country across the globe. This country is beginning to back away from this foolishness, as the Liberals promises of free energy are not happening. In fact, Germany's electricity costs have double as they have added wind and solar.

You see, Liberals refuse to "count" all expenses of solar and wind. When implemented in great numbers, costs skyrocket.

Every place that ramps up solar and wind find their overall electricity costs and prices surge. PJ and Forkie consider this coincidental magic.
