That Obstruction You See …

And there were some on here that were positive the Senate won't even have hearing(I admit, I was one at first reaction). There's way too much at risk to look like a bunch of whiney partisan assholes.
it comes down to abortion more than anything else. Pro-choice groups have been sitting on a hoard of cases surrounding state-abortion laws that have been closing down clinics in Red States. They did not want to send them to a court that leaned toward the dispostion of Justice Scalia. If he is replaced with a pro-choice judge then states like Texas are going to have their entire anti-abortion playbook go before the Supreme Court. At the top of the list will be laws that impose ridiculous building codes on abortion clinics....or laws that force women to be subjected to a guilt-trip religious sermon before getting an abortion.

Like I said. Its going to be interesting. The people who most want a pro-life judge are the same people pushing for the most unelectable candidates in the GOP. I'm sure Ted Cruz would pick someone even more pro-life than Scalia. Good luck electing Ted Cruz to be president of anything.
Let's recap.
The Senate Majority Leader has stated there won't be hearings.
The Head of the Judiciary Committee has stated there will be no hearings.
Ted Cruz has stated he will filibuster ANY nominee.
How silly of us to actually take them at their word.
Obama will nominate former Justice O'Connor. Let's see the reaction.

Maybe he should nominate Donald Tump’s sister.

Made me laugh there.
Didn't Obama try to filibuster John Roberts?

Schumer in 2007 said he would filibuster any nominee that President Bush put up if a SC opening occurred.

The democrats also filibustered a Hispanic federal court appointee because that may put a conservative Hispanic on a corse to be a SC nominee.

You actually believe every word that comes out of a politicians mouth?

"yaknow, sometimes I have to re-evaluate cetain policys and agendas, something I called the "gold standard" a few months ago doesn't stand up to my standards now(especially since I just got union backing)" . Ditto with Glass-Steagall. Paraphrased of course.
