These violent delights have violent ends

Ok after reading that I will definitely watch it again.

My other problem is that I typically start watching it on Monday night after midnight, having played league b-ball. So I often fall asleep.
BTW: For those of you that like this show, Reddit has a large community devoted to discussing this show and the various theories about it.

HAPPY HALLOWEEN !

Evan Rachel Wood:
Quote

“The anticipation is killing me. I thought when the show aired, it would relieve some of that, but now the anticipation of wanting everyone to know the secrets so I can stop having to bear them by myself is what I’m also looking forward to,” Wood said, admitting that, of course, she can’t spoil anything.

“I can tell you that the surprises will floor you. Certainly prepare for [Episodes] 9 and 10 to have your heart broken and your mind blown. And that’s really all I can say. I’m just over the moon about it.”

I think episode five was the best one yet.

DonDiego had al thought while watching Episode 5, Contrapasso.

The Man in Black is talking to Teddy. He comments that years ago he'd taken one of the hosts apart and was impressed by all the gears and mechanical clockworks that were the innards of the hosts. He states that it was "beautiful" compared to the blood and organic tissue innards of the current hosts, . . . and besides the change was "only because it was cheaper."

DonDiego's thought: What if in addition to organic body parts the hosts actually have man-made organic brains?
This opens up all sorts of questions of what exactly is a human and what exactly is a host and what distinguishes them.
I think that is an interesting thought. I tend to think of it in terms of consciousness rather than brains. I know there is one theory that says the secret sauce behind West World is that the hosts have human consciousness. That is at some point actual human consciousness was transferred into the hosts. That is how they were able to leapfrog past Old Bill.
There is also a debate to which hosts are more advanced the mechanical or biological ones. We know Dolores at least started out as a mechanical host.

From the trailers that were released:

Spoiler
I like the "turn the other cheek" bit in last night's episode. Getting better all the time.
Great episode seven tonight. Lots of big reveals plus a few permanent deaths. One of them really surprised me. "What door?"

Indeed. Some clarity on motivations and players and whose side they're on.
And real violence has arrived.

So far the main quibble which DonDiego has had with the "logic" of the show is the apparent lack of security, suggested by Episode 6, which would allow Maeve to coerce Felix and Sylvester into "improving" her mental assets. Given the obvious requirement for security, like cameras and microphones, in an environment like the Westworld technical shops the ease with which she twisted the repairmen, and the ease with which they improved her seems unlikely.
Or, maybe, the security lapse will be explained later.
