Thoughts?

Is the kid still an innocent little angel like some have said? Seems they've released some pics and texts from the little guys phone. Full article

The text messages include a conversation from November 2011 in which he appears to say his mother has kicked him out of the house after "da police caught me outta skool."

"So you just turning into a lil hoodlum," the person with whom he is texting says.

"Naw, I'm a gangsta," the text message read.

WOW, maybe not the sweet little kid after all, but then again, I didn't know him.

I think they were both to blame for the confrontation.

these smears about seem like arguing a rape victim was a slut so her rape is less a crime.

Agree wholeheartedly.

Plus this is not relevant. It's not like Zimmerman had this background information before the encounter.
But it is relevant,it becomes relevant ever since the whole thing was sensationalized by GMA when they did there "creative editing" thing portaying this as a racial crime where an innocent little kid was so so unfairly hunted down and shot by an overzealous racist who was out for blood. THAT is exactly what the prosecution is going to try and make GZ out to be. The defense has every right to have this evidence presented to the jury.
I agree somewhat, but it's over, done, can't be undone and an unfortunate thing that shouldn't have happened, but it did. No one would've never even known about it if GMA hadn't done what they did and both sides are going to use everything they can, and rightfully so at this point. We'll see what happens.

GMA report is not relevant to the case.

If the defense can convince the judge that Zimmerman knew the background of this guy and it influenced his decision to escalate the situation then it should be allowed in court.
I predict a hung jury.

GMA is not the court. If you are talking about the court of public opinion, the people that want to believe he was a poor innocent kid will go on believing it. People that want to believe he's a gangbanger will do so.

The world is black and white to many people.

Personally, I think the kid was a gangsta wannabe. No worse than a lot a of teens but no angel. He looked a little suspicious to Zimmerman and there was a confrontation. Zimmerman is no angel.

They were both at fault for the confrontation. Things escalated. Now, one is dead and one is on trial for his killing. The whole thing could have been avoided but each wanted to stand his ground.

If the kid did not normally live in that neighborhood, how could Zimmerman possible know his background?

He couldn't. That's why none of this is relevant.
