Las Vegans are remarkably poor drivers. It doesn't matter how good of a driver you are. If you're not a good defensive driver you will eventually have an accident here.

I-15 First in Most Dangerous Highway in America

LAS VEGAS -- The rankings are out for the most dangerous highways in America and the I-15 stretch from Clark County, Nevada to San Bernardino County, California ranks number one.

Wow.I-15 being the most dangerous surprises me.I've been driving around Vegas and south to California since 1979 and never had a problem.

I haven't either. I suspect it is due more to the drivers than the highway. There are a lot of trucks on the highway. There are people who are ultraspeeding (100 mph), and there are probably more intoxicated people than normal. I've had twice when I was approaching Primm (from California) where there were flipped over cars in the median. Both accidents were due to highly intoxicated individuals who were driving 100+.

I remember about 10 years ago...before they erected barriers to stop you from crossing into the wrong lane.....an oriental woman crossed the road going the wrong way and killed herself and her children. They didn't know if she had fallen asleep or had intentionally done so to commit suicide.

Thanks for adding that the woman was "oriental", that explains so much.

I'm reading this and I'm thinking "Yeah, but what continent did her ancestors come from, because that matters so much to my understanding of this story about a terrible car crash."

But you took care of that for me, by using that antiquated, pejorative, and disparaging word. The woman's ancestors came from the continent called Asia. And so now I understand the crash better.

I got my POS rental car up to 100 to keep up with traffic. People do drive very fast.

Hmmm? I don't see anywhere where Bags is implying that Asian drivers are bad drivers. Is the term "oriental" or "Asian" racist?

If he had stated a woman got in an accident, would that mean he is implying woman drivers are bad drivers?

It used to be that Oriental was the accepted terminology. Now it's Asian. I wasn't implying anything other than what she was. The official report stated that she was oriental. Go know!
