Time share

You be the judge. I went to see Legends in Concert, and a couple of seniors sat with us. It turns out the they paid $40 dollars to go to a time share presentation. Due to the fact that they were seniors, they were let off the hook and did not have to go though the time share presentation. They did get there money back, two tickets to Legends in Concerts, two buffets, plus $200 dollars in slot play. Would this be discrimination cause they were refuse the presentation, or lucky they didn't have to go though it. I went though that 12 years ago. I was told it would take 45 minutes, and lasted almost 4 hrs, and I get offers about a dozen times a day while in Vegas, sometimes the same person will ask me. Never again. I did meet a couple that had gone though it 3 times the day that we went though it.
Do you mean that people actually pay money to see a time share presentation? I thought they lured you to the presentation with the show tickets, slot dollars, etc. Man, what a racket!
You pay up front money to make sure you show up, and once you show up for the presentation the money will be returned. In this case they charge $40. I believe when I went, it was $20. But that was 12 years ago.
Those damn timeshare salespeople!!

The only reason they're doing it, is because they weren't hired as porn slappers!!

Given how easy it is to score free rooms/meals etc in Vegas it puzzles me why anyone would buy a timeshare.

Maybe easy for you to score free rooms but for others, maybe not as easy. Many go to vegas but not for the gambling. I have a friend (doctor) and wife who have a timeshare at the hilton grand vacations. They like the timeshare because it gives them a place to stay where they can cook some food. They go to shows and hit some buffets and shopping but hardly gamble. They also like the timeshares because they can use it elsewhere so it forces them to take a yearly vacation somewhere. I guess to each his/her own. For me, with the yearly fees and fee for the timeshare use it is probably more economical for me to just stay at a hotel casino.

I would never pay to go to a timeshare, if they want me to endure hours listening to their presentation they shouldn't expect me to pay them anything.

I wonder what percent of our lva members get comped rooms. I don't gamble enough to get comps, even downtown. (I play mostly craps and not big).

Part of our June 2012 vacation was spent at the Holiday Inn Desert Club (formerly Summer Bay) on Koval behind Imperial Palace. We had stayed there before a couple years back.

We did go to the presentation, which lasted one hour. In return, we got $120 in food vouchers good at Venetian/Palazzo. We had a very good dinner at Table 10 consisting of gumbo for both of us, filet, ribeye, lobster mac n cheese, and two glasses of wine. Our bill was $18 plus tip after the coupons. For us, it was worth it and they didn't try to high pressure us.

We have never and will never take a tour from the pushy hawkers in the hotels.
Hate Time Share Hawks worse than porn slappers... at least the slappers give you a nice picture that you can hand to a Time Share Hawker when approached.
