Time shares

I was wondering, do any of the folks here use timeshares when you go to Vegas? My wifes parents own a few and there's alway's tons of weeks to use so it works out pretty well for us. If so, where are the places you've stayed? Best ones? Worst?

We've stayed at summer bay(gone, was behing IP), westgate attached to PH, and polo towers. Westgate was nicest by far, summer bay was a dump and we loved it , Polo towers had the best beds we've ever slept in and I gave serious thought to trying to stuff one of the pillows in m y carry-on

The Holiday Inn Club Vacations (behind Flamingo) is probably my favorite. I like the neighborhood and the rooms are all refreshed. Granite countertops, full washer dryer in unit, nice balcony area....one bad thing is no elevators. 3rd floor room means 3 flights of steps.

The Hilton Grand Vacations Club accross from the old Sahara has awesome rooms and amenities but that neighborhood is dead now.

Ill be staying at the wyndham Grand Desert in a few weeks. Ill let you know how that is
Yea, I'd like to know about that one, that one comes up occasionally on the II site. Have you ever stayed at the Tahiti village, south of the strip and has the lazy river? Probably where we'll stay next time.

I've stayed at the timeshare just south of Southpoint, actually across the street from it. It was very nice. The only thing I found strange was they had jacuzzi tubs with a sign on it not to use them after 10 PM. Apparently, the sound of the motor is too loud on the floor below.

I would stay there again in a heartbeat. It seemed to be built as a full one bedroom timeshare/apartment. It also had a sleeper sofa in the living room. There were also several pools in the complex including adult only. When I was there several years ago, I took the timeshare sales pitch and got $100 in Luxor cash comps.

I also visited my brother when he was using a timeshare behind Harrah's and it appeared to be a hotel converted to a timeshare/apartment since it looked like an efficiency with an added bedroom with a large opening in the wall from the bedroom to the living space with a blind to close it off. I tried to do a search for the name of the timeshare, but I got too many Harrah's hits. If you are alone or a couple, it seemed very serviceable with a great location as my brother enjoyed being able to walk to Harrah's.

I am interested in this as well. We have two weeks with Itraval International. Is this the II you mention Jatki? Our one Cabo week exchanges for two weeks everywhere else. As of the last 4 years we have never had the chance to exchange since we use our shares as bought. I would like to try other places though.
We have stayed at Carriage House, located off Harman about two blocks off the strip. No strong feelings either way.

We have also stayed at the timeshare by the then Las Vegas Hilton. We liked that one alot and since it was connected to the monorail, it was easy to get around.

Also stayed at one off Koval Lane, located approximatwly one block behind Harrahs. The place was great. The first time we stayed there, they had a shuttle bus that went to the store, various casinos, outlet malls, etc. The second time there was no shuttle. It was about an eight dollar cab ride from Bally's.

In 2014, we have the Flamingo timeshare booked. After seeing how close that new observation wheel is, I'm a little nervous!

Try trip advisor for more reviews.

CK, yes the II I mentioned was for interval int. We (well parents) have two weeks w. a double lock out with II, and a week at Va. beach with RCI. Snag with the first one is it doesn't have much trading power, helps because it's it's the two weeks and L/O.

Teach, I always wondered about Carrige House, it always seems to pop up. Isn't that next to the Marriot grand chateau? We had res. at the MGC one time and had to cancel, it was still fairly new and I was looking forward to staying there. Anyone ever stay there?, I'm curious to know how it is.

It (Tahiti Village) looks more like a big apartment complex than some kind of resort. I love to be able to walk to the elevator when it is time to turn in and not have to drive to some place.
Yes, the Carriage House is one block further east from the Marriott. It had a smallish pool, and at the time PH was in the midst of constructing the PH Westage. Still, noise was not a factor.

We did tend to get in earlier since we walked from the strip to the timeshare. Rooms were adequate, but nothing plush or fancy.

They have a signal light if you need a cab.

B the way, the timeshare on Koval used to be owned by CET. It is where their entertainers staye. It had several pools. I should correct myself a bit--they still had the shuttle to the strip, just not to the store since they had finished a "store" on site.

We took the tour and got $100 comp for food (their were other choices) and we used it at Emeril's at the Palazzo? Encore? One of those, lol.

I've stayed in LV timeshares twice. Both were the results of a buddie's parents having points they had to use or lose. We both figured this was a good reason to go play some golf in LV. The first was a Worldmark unit on Spenser just south of Flamingo. It was very nice. It had a big master BR and a second room I would call a sleeping room as it had room for the bed and that's all. There was also a Murphy bed in the living room to accommodate a third person. The kitchen was fully stocked but we never used it. The pool area had 5-6 grills around it which would have been great for eating in. Would've been nice to spend a couple of days just hanging out there.

The second was behind Harrahs on Audrie. Not sure what company. Didn't look like much from the outside, but it was nice inside. It was much more convenient for casinos of course.

My only problem in staying at one again would be gambling as I do most of mine at night. In LV I usual have a couple of cocktails before dinner and maybe a glass of wine with dinner so I don't want to drive afterwards. This doesn't include the glass of wine or scotch I have if I'm playing craps. I'm sure thy all have shuttles, so I might try one down by SouthPoint, if you could get it for a decent price.

Good Luck!
