Tipping

I have a comped limo from my local casino (Presque Isle). The trip is about 1.5 hrs from my house to the casino

and about 1 hr from the casino home.. I always tip 20-25% of total bill, yet with this being comped I have no

Idea what to tip! Any help would be great.

Can you call the limo company and ask what the charge would be if it were not comped? Then you'd know what to base your tip on.

Tip 20-25 percent of what the "normal" bill would be if the trip was not comped.

Thanks Sue, I did and the casino will not tell me how much it cost them. They are saying becuase of PA gaming

laws they cant give me that info...

Why does it take a 1/2 hour longer to get to the casino? Do they drive faster on the way back? If they won't tell you the cost, I'd just give the driver a $20 each way.

Ask the driver what it would cost to rent the limo for 1.5 hours? Some places go by an hourly rate anyways.

Rather than concerning yourself with some formula, why not decide your tip based on the level of service'you receive?

Alan, 90 west has only 1 lane because of road work, on the way back 90 east has the 2 full lanes.

Is the limo owned by the casino or are they hiring a company?

I have to book town cars all of the time. Limos are really no different. They build a tip into the price of your fare. That being said, I have a friend who drives a town car for taking people to and from the airport and other special occasions. He always gives extra service (water, newspapers, etc.) from repeat customers who he knows will tip him.

If the driver is a casino employee, then $20 each way is enough. That is more than he is earning on an hourly basis.
