Tipping the Beautician

Tipping the beautician has always been confusing. Taking a poll to see how much to tip when your bill is $57.00 (perm). Keep in mind, this is the East Coast. AND I know you don't tip the owner.
No more than 20% if you are going back to the same person. They tend to expect that amount each time.
I usually tip between 15 & 20%.
$10.00 would be a satisfactory tip for your amount.
$65 and a $1 to the shampoo girl

You tip your beautician $65 on a $57 bill? I don't think so.

No, no, no. This is the total. Total. $65 to the beautician or "hair stylist" as I like to say and $1 to the shampoo girl or "hair and scalp cleaner person" as I like to say.
If they've done a really good job on you then give them a few extra dollars (15-20% range total)

WOW snidely, never figured you for a perm guy

Snide is very metrosexual.
I live in CT and I tip the owner of the salon. She rents out her space, but I know it's hard to keep those chairs full and she hasn't passed any costs on to her long time customers. I usually tip 20%.

It's funny you should say that. My wife teases me that I don't have a steady hair person but she and the dog do.
