do dealers, etc keep their tips or do they have to put them in a kitty for co-workers to share?also whats the biggest tip ever given
Kitty.

One million dollars was tip money to Kerry Packer, the Australian gazillionaire who died in 2005.

"He regularly tipped Bellagio dealers $1 million. All 700 dealers would get a cut," recalled Bobby Baldwin, on the telephone from his office as Mirage Resorts president and chief executive officer.
I think poker dealers keep their tips.

I remember one casino in Mississippi used to let the dealers keep their own tips when they first opened, but that didn't last long
I think KarenTN is correct...I play poker and the dealers just put the chips into their shirt pockets..not a box on the table like Blackjack dealers.

Most of the casino dealer pool their tips.
sometimes on a 24hour basis or it could be a week or 2 week basis, depending on the casion.
They say by pooling the tips, there is less chance of dealer worrying about what games they are on, also what shift they are on too.
they say that their is less chance of dealers being influenced (Cheating) by players.
Alot of players will not tip dealers that pool their tips because they don't want the bad dealer to get a cut.
What happens is that the'll really hurting the good dealers.

Some casino still let dealer Keep their own tips such as Sycuan casino in El Cajon or Pechanga casino in
temecula Calif. Still Very few and far between......

Also, casino that let dealer keep their own tips are easilier too get write ups by floor personel because floor people are jealous the dealers are making more money than they are.

A couple of Indian casino's around here still get to keep the tips that they earn. Seems to be the norm at most others to share tips.
