Not that it matters and especially now but I always thought he played at USC.

Didn't he have concussion problems in his later years of playing? I wonder if its related....

Um my bad, USC it was. At least I got the restaurant part correct. At any rate he was a phenomenal player on the field, with the same likeness to that of Steelers Troy Polamalu or Hines Ward, with high football IQ's & making spectacular plays.
According to the news, 8 members of the Chargers Super Bowl team have died so far of various reasons.
At least he didn't blow his brains out! That gets really messy. Last year when the GF and I went to Red Tracton's Steak House in Del Mar, we were sitting at the bar waiting for my kids to celebrate Father's Day. We knew the bartender whose name was also Bob, and we shared the same birthday. At this bar they always had on TVG...the horse racing channel...and the bartender would book bets on the races. All of a sudden he says, "junior, you aren't leaving already are you?" I turned around to see who he was talking to, and it was Junior Seau...he was right behind me. He came towards our seats, and parked himself next to my GF to speak to the bartender. I already told my GF who he was, and she turned to him and said, "I don't normally ask for an autograph, but could I get one from you?" He said of course she could and grabbed a napkin and a pen to give her his autograph. After that he turned and looked for his GF, and what a knockout she was!!! She couldn't have been over 25 years old and a nice piece. They turned around and walked out of the restaurant. After he left I asked the bartender how often he came to the restaurant, and the bartender told me he was there a "lot"! Junior had his own restaurant in Mission Valley and would stop by the Del Mar restaurant frequently. He was really a nice guy, and I can't understand why he would do something like this. I heard it on the news, and they just said that there was shots fired at his house, and it was rumored that he was dead. At first I thought it was either a domestic dispute or a home invasion. It was quite a shock that he took his own life. What a waste! He was a nice looking man and such a friendly guy! He never turned down a request for an autograph. I hope he rests in peace. It was such a shame to see his mother talking to reporters and telling them that it should have been her and to bring him back! She thanked the reporters for giving him such love!!

Very likely. I think he knew he had brain problems that were tormenting him to the point he killed himself, and he shot himself in the chest instead of the head possibly thinking/hoping that medical studies of his brain injuries after his death might help prevent the same things that happened to him from happening to other players. Truly sad. RIP Junior.
I think his GF could have driven him to this. I can understand how that could happen.
