I used to be "old school" when it came to reading books.
Living very close to a public library, it was easy enough to stroll over, and I found myself saving a LOT of money by no longer purchasing them.
This year, I broke down and purchased a 7" tablet to use as an e-reader, as well as the ability to go online whenever I find a free wifi hotspot.
Since getting it, I have no regrets, other than battery life, as far as reading books. The bonus of being 'online' whenever - wherever, to me, is gravy.
And, I've been reading a lot of books lately, by using my library e-book program. I can borrow up to 10 titles at a time, and "hold" another 10. Far as I'm concerned, getting the tablet is/was a great entertainment value.
Oh, I do not have a 'smart phone'. Just an old fashion cheap thing that I can talk on. I can also text, but have to use the number pad as there is no keyboard. The price is right.
