All those poor city folks could take public transportation to the local office to get a photo id.
True. And let's say they have to travel two miles and spend two dollars on the bus and spend two hours doing it.

Then the suburban upper income kid who automatically got his driver license when he was 16 gets a two mile head start and two hour head start and two dollar head start when it comes to voting rights, right?

I can't believe you actually just said, I really can't. The really F'ed up thing about it is, I'm sure you aren't embarrassed at all by it (or you don't really understand what you just said). Simply incredible, a two hour head start...SHEESH
Could you be a little more vague?

Wow......I hope it wasn't a stroke or other serious event. Perhaps a major change of medication? There was a time when I enjoyed the thoughtful, insightful and smart retorts from forky. Those days seem to be completely gone.

I miss Chilcoot.
I don't know of any state where someone "automatically" gets a drivers license. Everyone has to go to the DMV to get a license & the process at least in NY requires several trips.

The argument that the ID laws create an unfair burden has been echoed by federal judges, some of which were appointed by Republican presidents, so stop the pretense that my arguments are somehow far out or sick. Honorable people can disagree, dishonorable people will resort to insults. Is that who you want to be?

Most voter id laws have been upheld.
Which state mandates that Democrat votes must display an ID, and Republicans do not? I do agree that a larger percentage of Democrat voters are too lazy to get an ID, however, when compared to Republicans.

Apparently you believe that the Republican voter is too stupid or lazy to get in their car and get a voter ID. (I don't by the way.) Either everyone should have to go out of their way get an ID, or no one. Otherwise one side is getting a head start, aren't they?

In all seriousness, Indiana's DMV is outstanding. Our past Governor, Mitch Daniels, fixed this organization about a decade ago and it's still humming along.....................although I don't hear the hum at my house.

Everyone should have to suffer thru the morass of a DMV office at least once in their life

So Forkie is advocating another roll of fat in the government's body, whereby offices all over the us will need to be opened and staffed so everybody has to get the same voter id, just because it would be unfair to make lazy people go and get a picture id. Makes a lot of sense Forky. You really may want to think about what you say.
Forkie, just blurt it out! It'll make you feel better. Scream that you don't care that Hillary is an unscrupulous crook, and that you're hoping for as many falsified Democrat votes as possible. Forkie, everyone knows that those arguing for anyone voting believes "If you're not cheating, you're not trying."

...I see people in other countries who wait for hours in the heat or under the threat of violence against them, in order to vote...
Yeah, and the threats reduce the number of people who vote, don't they? As does the two dollars, two hours, and two miles head start that I described in response to hoops. As does the "DMV morass" that hoops described when he led with his chin yet again.

All I'm saying is that no group should get a head start when it comes to voting rights. I get that you disagree.

And several have been overturned, and several Republican judges have voted to overturn them. My point was that my argument is pretty mainstream, and to say that someone who argues against the laws is somehow sick is pretty shameful

Like I've said, honorable people can disagree on this. On the other hand there's CowboyKell.
