The Republicans won another governorship tonight. Can't blame gerrymandering on that.

I agree with Fritz that the requirement to vote should be the same standard as the one casinos require to get a free buffet.

Well, then its settled ! The site's Fox news crowd all agrees . Lets go have a beer!
The constitution doesn't say anything about ID's...and I could go into the million reasons why its difficult for many people to obtain one - but why bother? If Republicans were serious about modernizing the voting system they would support technology to allow people to remotely vote from any internet terminal...or telephone. You wont find any such Republican because Republicans understand that when voter turnout is big - they lose. And when voter turnout is small (last night) they win.

BTW - ask your favorite Republican legislator/Presidential candidate/mouth breather if he thinks an ID should be required for a private gun sale. You'll get a different answer then the one he gives you on the topic of voting.

There are not a million reasons why it's difficult to get an ID. Not thousands of reasons, nor hundreds....Nope, there aren't any. It's relatively simple, for everyone...
Cool. So let's make everyone get an new ID just for voting. No fair just relying on pre-existing ID's that overwhelmingly favor, say, suburban upper middle class car drivers versus city dwelling lower class public transportation users. No one should get a head start when it comes to voting rights, right?

Once again a totally disingenuous answer from you. So why do you want to increase the chances of voter fraud? Are you afraid the Democrats can't get enough legitimate votes?
All those poor city folks could take public transportation to the local office to get a photo id.

True. And let's say they have to travel two miles and spend two dollars on the bus and spend two hours doing it.

Then the suburban upper income kid who automatically got his driver license when he was 16 gets a two mile head start and two hour head start and two dollar head start when it comes to voting rights, right?
Apparently Forkie believes that the poor Democrat voter is too stupid or too lazy to get on a bus and get an ID. Or possibly there's a third option. Forkie could be concerned about losing those Democrat voters who "vote early and vote often".

How stupid and lazy are those Democrat voters, Forkie?

Apparently you believe that the Republican voter is too stupid or lazy to get in their car and get a voter ID. (I don't by the way.) Either everyone should have to go out of their way get an ID, or no one. Otherwise one side is getting a head start, aren't they?

I'm truly amazed. Do you have to hold your nose when you post an answer like that?

I see people in other countries who wait for hours in the heat or under the threat of violence against them, in order to vote.

If someone wants to vote and doesn't have an id, they only need to call Republican or Democratic headquarters. They will start the paperwork, and I'm sure they can find a volunteer to drive someone to the proper place to get a photo.
"Either everyone should have to go out of their way get an ID, or no one."

Everyone should have to suffer thru the morass of a DMV office at least once in their life

Couple points. How do these city dwellers do their banking or anything else that requires an ID? Second, if these city dwellers can get around fine on public transportation, what's to stop them from going and getting an ID? As I've mentioned before, there storm ahs been brewing for quite some time now and if anyone wants to vote they would've gotten an ID by now, whether by bus, taxi or horseback.

I said I would take one legitimate excuse, suburbanites vs city dwellers is no excuse. When Obama ran in '08, I didn't see any lack of voter turnout down in DC then, in fact I think it may have been a rcord. Try again and that was an extremely lame attempt for an excuse, sunds more like you're making shit up.

Yeah, and the threats reduce the number of people who vote, don't they? As does the two dollars, two hours, and two miles head start that I described in response to hoops. As does the "DMV morass" that hoops described when he led with his chin yet again.

All I'm saying is that no group should get a head start when it comes to voting rights. I get that you disagree.

I can't believe you actually just said, I really can't. The really F'ed up thing about it is, I'm sure you aren't embarrassed at all by it (or you don't really understand what you just said). Simply incredible, a two hour head start...SHEESH
