Tony Roma's 12.95 Special at the Fremont

You'd think an Italian guy like Tony Roma would know how to bake some BBQ ribs.
I went there for the Prime Rib Special in May and it was the worst meal I have ever had. Came with baked potato and NO salad and had to ask for bread. The meat was all fat and bad. Service was nothing to brag about. Would never go back.
It is just a chain restaurant. Their specialty is barbeque it is a good price for decent food. I have always been fond of the Ribs.

Could not have said it better, mush.

loyd, have you tried, and liked?, tony roma's in Dallas? really???

I'm sure that hard core barbecue enthusiasts must laugh at chain restaurants like Roma's. There used to be a Tony Roma's at the Stardust. While I was staying there, I was charting a roulette wheel, when a floor man came up with a security guard and told me what I was doing was illegal and if I was caught doing it again I would be considered trespassing. That night I witnessed five different people charting, and not a single one of them was being harassed.

I filed a complaint with the casino manager. He proceeded to tell me that what I was doing was not legal (which it is), but that I did not deserve to be treated in the manner I was treated. He said he talked to the floor man to tell him that he didn't handle the situation well. He then offered me a comp for two to Tony Roma's or to the breakfast buffet. I took Tony Romas.

Honestly I did eat there once and liked it but that was over ten years ago. I am not even sure where one is here anymore.

Seems like most have gone out of business. Maybe if they are as bad as the one at the Fremont then I can see why.
I know my dad loved the one in pitts.,he'd go to it every time he was up there. Never tried it personally. I've seen the vac sealed ribs at the grocery store and almost bought some a couple times(based on my dada)but never did.

I was hoping to hear of some good experiences as it did sound like a good deal.

Curtis have you ever tried the chicken fried steak at Ellis Island. The one time I tried it it was real good!

No, I haven't because chicken fried steak is one of those things that can be really good or really bad! But since you recommend it I'm absolutely going to try it. (wish I had it right now) Thanx for the info.
All this talk about ribs and bbq has me thinking about going to Dickey's BBQ and getting me ribs, pulled pork with some cole slaw, potato salad, bbq beans and for desert some peach cobbler with vanilla bean ice cream.

I ate there for the lobster and steak special and was very disappointed. The steak was very small and thin, the lobster was just ok but not good service either. I did do the ellis island steak a lot.
