What does it mean that I've never heard of LCD Soundsystem, Animal Collective, Fleet Foxes, or Pretty Ricky?

Could be you're old or out of touch OR maybe they're obscure or local bands. I'm betting on old. I don't know who the hell they are either and I'm old. Probably just no-talent whippersnappers.

I'm pretty damn old too, but I get to hear LCD Soundsystem, Animal Collective, and Fleet Foxes on that new-fangled satellite radio thingy. I kinda like Fleet Foxes. Gotta admit, though, never heard of Pretty Ricky.....

Have you heard of Margo and the Nuclear So and So's?

I think I heard them on blog radio a few years ago. Your band?

No. I just heard of them. And Dallas Green. Just trying to judge my "hipness".

Snidely, you are the epitome of hipness - and Dallas Green (aka City and Colour) writes some nice little songs....

This is all subjective. Everyone's list will be different, and everyone's list will offend someone. The Sex Pistols will always be included in both the best and worst designation.

How about a list of the top twenty most pointless lists?
What a list. Guess everyone is entitled to their own opinion.
Just like any other "list" that seems so popular it is designed to create conversation, which it did. IMHO all of these list are total BS. Of course I have no use for critics. They strike me as someone who prefers to stand on the sidelines and throw stones rather than jump down into the arena.

I remember hearing and reading so much about the movie "The Black Swan", I hated it. Give me "Dumb and Dumber" or Planes, Trains and Automobiles, any day.

I used to have two clipped newspaper reviews of Uncle Buck, a movie I've never seen. One of them said it was John Hughes' best movie, the other said it was his worst. Both reviewers were adamant. That's all you really need to know about the opinions of self-appointed critics.
Hot funny, cool punk even if it's old junk, ..... it's still rock and roll to me

Great song, I just played it. Thanks for reminding me.
The monkees weren't an actual band, although two of them were musicians. Michael Nesmith was a working musician who actually wrote Linda Ronstadt's early hit "Different Drum." One musician that turned the opportunity was Stephen Stills, but he did recommend friend Peter Tork, another musician, for the part.

Good Luck!

With Boyce and Hart, Neil Diamond, Carol King and other writing for them how could they miss. BTW Michael Nesmith had a hit with the song "Joanne" and Mickey Dolenze starred in Circus Boy before the Monkees. Davy Jones played the "Artful Dodger" in the play Oliver before the Mokees.

These lists are a joke. I'll grant you that Wings had some Stinker Albums but "Band On The Run" is one of the best of all time.
