TV Guide is now 60 years old and has been doing a series of features of various top 60 themes.

This week's issue are the top 60 comedies. Here are the top 10

1- Lucy
2- All in the Family
3- Seinfeld
4- The Honeymooners - suprisingly only about 60 episodes were made
5- The Simpsons
6- Mary Tyler Moore
7- Mash
8- The Cosby Show
9 - Cheers
10- - Sat. Night Live

Of the current comedies Modern Family is #13 & Big Bang is #19. Not on the list is 2 1/2 Men & The Office

Where's Fraiser?

They ranked the top 20 & listed the next 40 in alphabetical order. Frazier was in the next 40 - also a great show. I remember reading that between the 2 shows the Frazier character was the longest running character (that wasn't a cartoon)

He's probably back sitting at a bar in Boston.

I've always been a fan of Bob Newhart...love that dry sense of humor.

Til this day, I still rememeber watching the Tonight show with Johnny Carson. Newhart & Don Rickles were guests. Carson couldn't get a word in...he was laughing so hard he was in tears. He sat back & let them take over the show. Late night TV at its best.

Oh man, where's Andy and Barney? That was a classic and I still watch reruns on tvland. Who could ever forget and at least get a chuckle..

I always liked the Jefferson's. Loved seeing Florence and George go at it.

I always thought an underrated comedy was "News Radio" with Joe Rogan, Stephen Root and a young Maura Tierney.
