You can play a table game with a spouse's card. I've seen it plenty of times where the pit boss scans the information in and hands back the card to a male using the female name on the card and vice versa. And everyone laughs.
Your husband might consider picking up a replacement card for a different reason, though. While he doesn't gamble enough to earn many perks, you both might use his card on a light gambling day to keep up your Average Daily Theoretical (ADT) on your card. ADT is king for determining your comp offers and they can be reduced by short play.
