I'm new to the TR program and just recently signed up. But I noticed when I used my TR card at Harrah's San Diego in the kiosk where I swiped my card for a free buffet dinner the kiosk didn't require my PIN and it automatically printed out a voucher with my name on it for the free buffet. I figured okay since it has my name on the voucher and when I go to use the voucher at the buffet that the cashier will check my ID to make certain that my ID matches the name on the voucher. I was surprised that the cashier didn't check my ID and allowed me into the buffet. Does Total Rewards print out these vouchers without requiring a PIN? It concerns me because if I misplace my TR card someone can then print my voucher and use my vouchers at will.

Did you ask about it at on site, immediately, when corrections could have been made?

I agree that your card, and anyone's, can be compromised if this is the case.

Did you try and swipe again for another buffet? Could've been a glitch in that kiosk.

I remeber when I was mucch younger there was a faulty gas pump that wouldn't shut off. I went home and got another car (I think I was kinda buzzed) and filled it up along with all my gas cans. Of course I felt guilty, wasn't who I was so I went in,told them about and gave 'em like 10 bucks or something. Of course they went out and shut it down immediately gave me my money back and said thanks for telling them. However I may not mind swiping a free buffet from Harrhs nowadays.

At my local casino, Horseshoe Hammond, IN, they ALWAYS ask for a photo ID when redeeming a comp at the buffet.

On promotional days, I just swipe my card and it spits out a voucher. Never have I been asked for a pin for that.

I agree that your card, and anyone's, can be compromised if this is the case.

In May when I return for my next free buffet I will bring it to their attention. Anyone's card including mine could be compromised as you put it.

I have always just given them my ID at the buffet before they ask. I think this was just an oversight by the buffet cashiers.
